I run with my dog so I tend to think about her comfort a lot, is she too hot, does she need water, are her paws raw from the pavement. She's also a bit of a handful on leash around other dogs so I'm always scanning around for dogs. When I'm running alone I people watch and think about the scenery a lot.
I asked H this, and he was all like, "when I run, I'm concentrating on my form, breathing, etc; when I swim I'm thinking about my stroke". Really? I'm off in la la land day dreaming, or gawking at other people at the gym. Maybe that's why I'm so slow!
For the first mile/section, breathing and form. Then my mind wanders.
In classes I think about beating the person in front of me, or not letting the guys pass me.
How much longer/further? What's DD doing?/Does she miss me? Wow. I just lifted heavier than that guy. I am awesome. That person runs really fast. 7.5mph for 4 miles? Wow. Why is that lady running the opposite way as everyone else on the track? Is my post-baby belly jiggling? What will I eat when this workout is over?
