I've always left butter out. The other day DH ruined the butter by rolling his hot grilled corn on the cob on it! Now it's all squished and has the corn stuff on it.
I just discovered this spreadable butter by some Irish sounding company. I forget what it's called but it's delicious, grass fed, and the only ingredients are legit butter ingredients. I can't figure out how they make it so smooth and spreadable but it's awesome!
The European brands are awesome. My mom buys Balade, which I think is Belgian, but I think I know the Irish one you are talking about. Is it Kerrygold? I see that a lot around here.
THere is spreadable butter, for those who might want butter but without the spreading issue.
lies, all lies.
REAL BUTTER comes in a stick. and you have to leave it out, or it's not spreadable.
try Balade if you can find it. It is 100% dairy, even the light one, and it is real spreadable butter from Belgium. The Europeans know their butter. Seriously, it is that good.
(and I do have butter in my fridge, salted and unsalted:) )

That sounded dirty :/
that dirty bastard.
I'm still thinking about junk punching him and saying "YOU KNOW WHY".

Carlsbourg is better if you can get your hands on it: you can also melt it/cook with it, which you shouldn't do with balade.
Spreadable butter is guilty of making me eat full fat butter again.
In the 50+ years my Mom has been alive she has never put butter in the fridge, and our butter doesn't go in the fridge either :-) ::raises fist in solidarity::
Did you buy a Butter Bell? My parents got one last year, and I thought it was SO GROSS! I understand the concept... and rationally know that it isn't going bad on the counter... but the whole idea of it is just wierd to me!

If this Balade "butter" shouldn't be melted or used for cooking, A. Then it's really NOT butter and 2. Why would you eat it?
Real butter only! I have three different types in the fridge. With sea salt chunks from Normandy is the best, great advantage of buying butter in France, it is THE BEST.

My BIL did this once early on when he was first dating my sister. You should have seen the look on my mom's face - her butter was ruined!
Now, she puts out a special stick of corn butter, that is just for rolling our corn in.
