I have been lurking here occasionally off and on for a little while, but usually hang out on MM and MMM. I'm trying to get brave enough to post more here (this may require alcohol). Here's one of my pups.
I don't think I'm really new - I've been around since TN but was mostly on WC and the book board. I followed CEP and MM over here and then decided you guys weren't nearly as mean and scary as people on TN said you were. I like you guys, you're fun. So I've been trying to post more. So hi, I'm Kayash.
Not new, just a sporadic poster. I did make a new display name recently though. My old one from nest days and here was AnotherRose. It was too close to a few others so I changed it.
That is absolutely the face of a treeing walker coonhound. I adore mine. They are such wonderful (and noisy and curiously bad) dogs.
The BAYING! Oh the baying, lol. Here's my guy-
Lol, mine never shuts up. Every noise deserves a round of coonhound howling and barking and whining. It's like living with a 4 legged screechy pre-teen.
He is beauttttiful. Do you think he's full blooded or a mix? His snout looks big, HOWEVER, mine is a female and I've never met a male coonhound and I know they are larger so take that snout evaluation with a grain of salt.
TrickyBob- I don't know if he's mixed with anything else since he was a rescue. But like I said, everything on the Treeing Walker Coonhound wiki page describes him to a T. From my understanding, the abuse situation him and his sisters were taken out of- he was the runt of a very big litter of girl pups in the middle of nowhere, TN. So it's possible he is a mix. I have never met another TWC in person so have nothing to compare him to. Although he is only bi-colored, his sisters were all typical TWC tri-colored. Here's more of a side view of his snout (He's very scholarly): Attachment Deleted
ETA: Looking at yours- his snout is definitely larger than hers.

Hey all,
I started posting here not too long ago (a month or two maybe?) because lurking on the other website with lots of MUD was no longer appealing. I'm 24 and I live in NJ. FI and I are getting married next October and we both work in the real estate appraisal business to pay the bills but FI does opera and is an independent voice teacher while I'm doing some work with a non-profit providing therapy for children under 6 with behavior issues and their parents.
I realize that was a hell of a run-on sentence, and I'm going to drink a mojito now to diminish my shame.

Yah, I'd imagine he's probably full blood. Mine is a tri-color and she's full, someone gave her to us for free since they had 9! puppies and her husband wanted to sell them but wasn't moving too fast so she just gave her to us. Her father is some kind of champion winner but we never bothered to get her papers or make sure she's registered. She is exceedingly smart but I laugh at the idea of her in a dog show, she's too all over the place.
I'm sorry he was abused. They are such loving dogs and such pleaser dogs, whenever something bad happens, they keep on loving you.
I'm still a newbie and likely will be for some time.
I've never done a proper intro, so here's my Bulleted List of Defining Things About Me:
- I am a freelancer and own/co-own a couple businesses. None of them are lucrative, but I am happy. - After many, many years (see: Tommy Callahan's college career), I recently completed my BA. - The husband and I have been married seven years. We have a son, who will soon be three-years-old. Time passes very quickly. - We do not have pets. - The husband just returned from a deployment in Kuwait, so that's pretty awesome.
Much better! I can't do spiced rum. When I was 13, my older sister got me sick off of tequila shots, and Captain & Coke. I've never been able to touch Captain again, and it wasn't until my senior class trip that I could touch tequila.
Captain and diet coke is my go to! Once I was down at the beach with this guy I had a huge crush on. I was probably 22. We walked up to the bar and I thought I would be all bad ass and order a captain and coke, well I said a jack and coke and didnt even realize it until he commented that I was hitting it hard early. It was so disgusting! I still won't touch Jack Daniels. lol
Yep, that will do it. I don't hate Jack Daniels, I just prefer captain and coke instead. Or Kracken and coke! Basically any spiced rum and coke. Spiced rum and root beer is good as well!
