My birthday was yesterday. I had the best day. Early 12 miles with some of my favorite people in the morning, & then a BBQ with more of my faves at night. AW 1: DH got me a Garmin 610! The bezel on my 405 has been freaking out in the humidity, & I really wanted 4 displayed data fields. Yay, DH!! AW 2: Another running couple/friends got me a 90 min massage!! Yay awesome friends who understand marathon training!! AW 3: My main running partner is awesome. I love her & her husband so much. We've trained through our last 2 marathons together, we're doing Chicago together, etc. I'm always making up encouraging sayings to get us fired up, her favorite of which is when I tell her to go fuck shit up. Then we were reading a RW article & laughed when we read that at the start line of the Olympics, Shalane looked at Kara & said, "Lets go fuck shit up!" Anyway, my gift from her, a simple hammered silver bracelet. Front-

Fuck shit up
Confession: We went through 2 bottles of vodka last night making grapefruit basil martinis. My 6 miles will have to wait until I can shake this headache.
Random: I helped rescue a kitten 2 wks ago. We're not cat people. I'm allergic. We fostered him & found friends who wanted him. They were in town for my birthday & to take him home. I cried after they left. Lol, WTF?! I don't want a cat, but the lil guy really grew on me. He was such a scared, tiny, little thing, & he came a long way in the 2 wks we had him. He turned into a really cool kitten.I know he's going to a good home, but lesson learned, I could never be a foster.
My random: I met a lady on my run today who was looking for her sister's dogs. She was petsitting them and they got away. They are 14 and 16 years old. I came home and posted in on my dailymile and FB, and a friend linked me to a doggie daycare post about them, so I had a pic, which I shared also.
I am obsessed with these dogs. I was so scared I was going to find them on the road when I ran on the bypass -- I took her number and all I could think about was "what if I see them hit?". Thank God I didn't. But those poor pups. I just can't shake how scared I am for them.
I'm exhausted, I got up at 7 to run 8 miles and we spent the morning blueberry picking and drinking wine with out neighbors. I think I'm going to get coffee and a pedicure.
AW: H is officially done working in St. Louis at the beginning of August. He may have a short project in Detroit, and then if all works out, he should be on a project near our house. I am so excited for him to be home every night. Now if I could find a job that doesn't have so much travel......
Happy birthday, clseale! And I LOVE the bracelet, I'll have to remember to fuck shit up too!
Gummy, I really hope they find the dogs safely. That would be my worst nightmare... dogsitting and the dogs getting away. Ugh.
Nothing much going on here. Been cleaning the house all day. I was out of town for a week and only ran twice, totally got off my Half training plan. Ran on the trail yesterday and felt much better!
I'm officially one week into my 3 weeks of no running, and I'm eagerly anticipating my PT on Tuesday. I hope I've made some progress. It makes me sad to drive along my running route. I seriously talked to the set of stairs I train on as I passed them today. My car is in the shop, and soon I'll have reverse again! I've adapted very well over the last year. It's nice to finally have the $$$ to get it fixed!
Dh is getting a colonoscopy tomorrow. Prep day is no fun for either of us--poor guy can only have liquids/jello/clear stuff (plus the magical prep elixir), and I am STARVING after my workout this morning and feel guilty about wanting to constantly eat EVERYTHING.
My random: DH just took me out for a lunch date and we got Mexican. I ended up bringing home a huge bag of their tortilla chips and salsa to snack on tonight.
I took a new yoga class today called Iron Yasa. It is in a heated room and you use weights. It was pretty fun, I will do it again. But, I noticed when I backbend deep that my low back is still hurts (pinched nerve or something). So, I am bummed I am not healed yet.
I work from home and I just noticed my daughter's missing sandal is sitting next to my computer. That means she was doing something in my work space when I was no one was looking. Only a 4 year old would leave her shoe as evidence.
I missed my 10 mile run this morning. I woke up at 3:30 and spent the next 2 hours in the bathroom getting sick. I seem to have recovered at this point though I haven't tried solid foods yet. I feel really guilty about missing the run even though puking is more than a valid excuse. But I skipped last weekends 10 miler because of a summer cold/vacation and figured I'd make it up today. Now I either run the 10 miles tomorrow before work after a day of liquid diet, or go 3 weeks without a run over 5 miles. Grrr.
ETA: Happy Birthday, ciseale. That bracelet is awesome.

Happy Birthday, clseale! You have some very thoughtful friends!
I am supposed to officially be starting my 12-week half training program tomorrow, but I am stuck on a liquid diet today to get ready for a procedure tomorrow. My calf has actually been cooperating for my last few runs, so I was really hoping to start off strong. Hopefully I'll be back on track fuel-wise by Tuesday.
And what have I been doing since I started all this today? Looking at restaurant menus. My DH is definitely taking me to a local biergarten. I need me some wurst and hefeweitzen!

I have nothing because my brain isnt functioning. I was outside walking around all day with one of my friends, and i melted. Its hot as hell out thtere. My brain melted.
I officially start marathon training tomorrow. I'm nervous! It'll be my 3rd marathon, so it's not like I'm a total newb, but I really want to improve my time for this one, so I'm nervous about getting all my runs in, especially in this heat.

Confession: I got up at 8am, went grocery shopping (worst plan ever...), ran a few errands and started laundry. Then slept from noon til 4pm. I fell asleep on the floor and at some point groggily got up and moved to the spare bed. DH slept until 5pm. Apparently we needed our Sunday naps...
AW #1: I made a standing desk in hopes to help my back - so far its working quite well. I'm impressed with my improvising skills!
AW #2: I ran a 10K on Saturday with a sore back, tired legs and no expectation and came in just 2 seconds shy of my PR!

That bracelet is amazing, I seriously need to join a running group and get some real running friends!! Hope you had a fab birthday! Maybe we'll briefly meet up to say Hi in Chicago!
AW: I beat my treadmill record today, not that I wanted to have to! Visting my parents in NC. It's hot, humid, and hilly...so I ran 14 miles on the treadmill while successfully watching all of "This is 40."
Confession: I am taking a pregnancy test tomorrow.
Random: I bought my 1yr old niece some seriously cute blinged out hot pink Baby Sperry Top-Siders, freaking adorable.
