Have they already grown in or are they going to remove them from your gums? I had the latter done last summer. I wasn't able to take anything stronger than ibuprofen.

They are all through my gums. My dentist has always told me they wouldn't need to be removed, and then yesterday he said he wants all 4 removed. But, if you could manage fine on Ibuprofen I won't worry too much.

I've had two of my four removed. It really wasn't that bad. Just listen to them when it comes to taking care of yourself afterwards. I used straws and ended up getting dry socket. That was a million times worse than getting them pulled.
I had them removed when I was in college. I took 1/2 a Vicodin the day of and ibuprofen for ~3 days after. No big deal and my mouth healed quickly. GL!
I had mine out in college. I did not meet my oral surgeon until the surgery. He came in just as they were giving me the drugs that knocked me out, and he was very young and very good looking. The last thing I remember was trying to flirt with him. When I woke up all groggy, I tried to flirt with him again. I'm sure I had serious game, I don't know why I didn't get his digits, lol.
Other than that, it was super easy, recovery was uneventful. Good luck!!
I had all 4 removed, but probably 7 or 8 years ago. I was half sedated I guess... I couldnt feel anything and was way out of it. I only came to when they were removing the last tooth and all of a sudden I felt a pull and a huge release of pressure.. it was weird! Then when it was done, I was too anxious to get up... ended up puking. But usually I dont, so I dont know what the problem was. Just dont sit up too quickly! lol
I remember only being able to eat tuna. I was starving but couldnt eat... that was my only issue. I just remember crying because I was so hungry and I couldnt eat fast enough, lol!
But really, it'll be fine!! I was given Vicodin after, so I was knocked OUT when I got home. I cant imagine needing to take care of a kid, so maybe make sure your DH is home or someone else to watch the girls in case you need to nap or something
I had mine out 5 years ago. All four had to be cut out and a cyst removed. They gave me 3 options: novocaine, all out anesthesia and something in between where you're awake but not fully alert and you don't feel anything. I chose the middle one and listened to music the whole time. I dozed in and out, but at one point I could "feel" them pulling--no pain or sensation, just the pressure that someone was tugging on something. It wasn't bad or scary, just different.
I had no pain, little bleeding and took the codeine for just 2 days. I was even able to eat dinner that night. One thing I wasn't prepared for was the ring of bruises around my jaw. It also took forever for the flesh to heal up properly so for a long time I had a hole in my gums where the stitches had come out.

I had 3 removed from my gums. My dentist only used novicane. I'm insanely scared of needles and started crying and hyperventilating as he was doing the novicane. He got real with me and told me to get ahold of myself or we were going to have to reschedule. Well, I did not want to get the novicane again so I forced myself to calm down and after the novicane it was no biggy at all.
A few years later when I found out I needed a root canal I started crying uncontrollably just from the dentist telling me. Since then I take Xanax before all dentist appointments.
It wasn't a big deal for me either, but make sure help is lined up for the girls and make sure you USE IT! Don't be dragging your half-drugged self off the couch an hour after the procedure to cut the crusts off a sandwich.
All four of mine were impacted and I had them removed under general anesthesia. I had a "dream" that I woke up to hear the tooth being broken and whatever and afterwards I asked..no you didn't wake up....yeah, I had extra units of anesthesia billed. Me thinks I did wake up. Recovery wasn't bad, no dry sockets.

I had all of mine out when I was maybe 20 or something, easy peasy. DH had 2 out last year and it honestly was not a big deal....he did look like a chipmunk though and did say some silly things to me, lol.
You'll be fine You MUST share the chipmunk photo, hahahaha

Bummer! I'm glad you can wait awhile. I had my removed under general, after they suddenly became infected, when H was 5mos. I pumped and dumped for two days. It was not fun.
I was knocked out so I don't remember anything. I guess it took longer than usual because 2 of the 4 shattered into tiny pieces. But the recovery was really easy! Have someone there to help you though, you're not supposed to walk around a lot and you'll be very drowsy.

DH did this a bit after his. I was doing my student teaching so a friend went with him and I picked him up afterward. He commented that he just rested in the car on the way to our friend's house. Our friend looked at him and said, "Dude, you talked the entire time!"
And seriously, make sure there's someone to help you after, because you just don't know how you'll react to the meds. In fact, they wouldn't even let me have the procedure until they knew for a fact that there was someone in the waiting room who would take me home and stay with me.

I had all 5 wisdom teeth removed (yep!). They put me under so I didn't feel a thing until I got home. My sister took tube socks and filled them with ice packs and tied them around my head and I slept. I took the good pain meds. I ate lots of mashed potatoes and banana pudding. Just make sure you have plenty of food to eat, so you aren't tempted to eat anything that will hurt. And don't use a straw! I was also shocked how long the gums were tender, like months...
Mine were really easy, I think they put me under. I just remember being totally out of it on the way home and my oral surgeon would have your ride pick you up from the back door so you didn't have to walk through the waiting room which I always thought was funny. But it was pretty painless I think I took like 1 of the Vicodin they gave me. It was easy. But yeah don't drink anything from a straw after!
