I said Angel, because it was the closest, but it's not dead on. I would say he fit that description, aside from the nap lengths, almost exactly until about 11 months.
Seriously though his energy level is incredible compared to the 1 year olds in our family/in his church class. But so is his happiness level.
I would have to agree with this for Lillian too. She isn't aggressive with other kids though, she's social and will sit and play with kids who she doesn't know, not really that shy with kids. More so with adults.
Angel for most things, but touchy for sounds. She is so laid back about eating, we need to make sure she eats often and good amounts because she doesn't "speak up!" and is content after having some food, but could prob eat more. She runs and covers her ears and is startled easily.
That's pretty much how I see it. Kids' temperaments can change over time and aren't easily categorized--as we can all see from the caveats "S/he is mostly this, but a little of this."
He has elements of all. He matches up with Angel the best except for sleep which is the thing that concerns me the most but not one is actually 100% on point.
Both my children are completely different from baby to toddler. Jameson was a horrible and grumpy baby and now is a wonderful angel of a toddler with touches of being spirited. Anna was the true definition of an angel baby, and now is such a grumpy and demanding little girl! I hope this is just a molar/learning phase and isn't her norm, because it is not pleasant.
Somewhere around angel/textbook. He's always been very good natured and generally happy and content. He goes to sleep well and naps well, but he doesn't STTN, and he's never been a great eater. He's also on the later end with most of his milestones.
The problem I have with these categories, is that they are very rigid. I don't know a single kid that is only one of these things. I would say Max is a mix - 40% angel, 30% spirited and 20% grumpy and 10% touchy
Silas is a spirited child for sure. I've got my hands full. Everything from fearlessness to impatience. It's funny they mention breastfeeding a spirited child, because now if the milk doesn't come fast enough he will get up and step on my boob to "kick start" it.
