FWP of the day/week. I am in Key West and well.. I got clipped by a car on my bike (I am fine, but it was annoying) and pooped and peeeed on by AN IGUANA....at BREAKFAST!!!Oh it must have been the iguana says the restaurant manager...because thats normal.
WTH...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards
OMG that is awful but hilarious at the same time. Is it supposed to be good luck by any chance?, tuggyruns
My FWP- I'm pretty sure I tore my cornea during our 24+ hours of flying. I even thought to make sure I took out my contacts on the second leg of our flight through Zurich bc I knew my eyes were dry. As soon as I took one of them out, I just KNEW something was wrong. Thankfully (or luckily, or geez those are probably both terrible word choices but whatever) I've had a few corneal abrasions before and Dr Google helped me figure out what kind of medication to pick up and I was able to purchase it OTC in Bangkok. I'm super annoyed by wearing my glasses because I RARELY wear them and they are super annoying and I can't wear sunglasses too and I really, really hope it heals by the time we leave for Bali. I cannot wear glasses at the beach. And I am way to freaking blind to go without them... And I feel guilty even typing this while DH just returned to our table after speaking with a guy who lost both legs in a landmine during a Cambodian war and selling Angkor Wat post cards off a took took to support his family. OK must stop typing now bc I feel kinda bad for my FWP when dude without legs has real challenges... Off to drink some more beers
are you still in Bangkok? There's a really good tourist hospital there that you might want to visit before you jet off somewhere more remote
I have another one... I just got invited to a home jewelry party. UGH!!! I hate those home parties, I don't need overpriced crap that I can buy elsewhere for nicer! I'm sorry if I offend anyone, that's not my intent. I just personally really dislike these home parties. Vent over.
Right there with you. so sick of those and the endless barrage of advocare crap on Facebook...
Have you been bombarded by ItWorks! shit yet? Half my facebook is selling this crap... so half my fb feed is blocked from my viewing.
I ripped up my hands in Crossfit yesterday. On pullup 75 they tore. Apparently there are hand care routines to help prevent this. Had no clue. I'll be buying tape tonight and making some tape grips. I have a CF date tomorrow with friends and with torn hands I am not sure if I will make it. Sucks so bad but I think I may try.

We're in Cambodia now, but will be back in Bangkok for a night on Saturday. Which tourist hospital is it that you speak of, katinthehat ? If its not better by Saturday (which I'm praying it will be), I should probably get it checked out. Hopefully it won't set me back hundreds of dollars. Thanks for the tip!

whine: I have to take Wyatt to the vet for his yearly checkup/shots. i HATE going to the vet; i get major anxiety. I think it's the fact that I never know exactly how much it's going to cost that gives me anxiety. ugh.
I had to take Diva last week and she was TERRIBLE.. at least Wyatt has some sense and will behave.
I really, really hope it heals by the time we leave for Bali.
I love you, but you lost every ounce of my sympathy at this part.
ENJOY BALI JERK.
just kidding.
I once got a yeast infection in a tropical paradise and had to use my broken french to articulate to the pharamacist what I needed. also, I think I had whooping cough on our honeymoon. I'm not making this up. I get that it sucks to be sick/injured on vacation, but try to enjoy yourself. sounds like an amazing trip!

I'd like to throw in that I'm sore. In my armpits. I'm sure it's from the ramped up swim schedule, but ... armpits? Really? It really brings to the forefront just how much I move my arms, too. Every time I swing my arm in any direction, I get that achy sore-muscle pain. Fun times.

I'm worried that getting our two new kitties was a mistake. They are destroying furniture, misbehaving, and generally wreaking havoc on my life and house. Maybe it was too soon after my kitty died in February.
And I have a staph infection on my arm. It is yucky and it itches when I sweat. Which, in south Alabama in late summer, is All Of The Time.

Feels more like a confession than anything: I've lost the passion in what I do now. I'm in the health field...I do my job to the best of my knowledge and ability but sadly, my heart isn't here now....especially after having a baby.
My vent is kind-of H&F...I'm taking a couple of courses next year towards a certificate at a local university. For some reason they want me to prove compliance with NC state laws re immunizations. Everything is totally fine except tetanus. I have paperwork proving that I had the series completed in 1999, and my MD gave me a tetanus shot in may. But I need three dates and since the 1999 date just says "series complete" and isn't more specific, they are counting it as one shot and telling me I am one shot short.
My doctor won't do a "medically unnecessary" vaccination, the CDC website says that all I need is 2 shots (which I have) but for some stupid reason the student health service is blocking my registration.
Which is especially frustrating considering that this is a part-time, professional certificate, and I should be exempt from this whole stupid routine in the first place...
I really, really hope it heals by the time we leave for Bali.

Gah! I know. . I hope my post didn't come off as a bragplaint. I promise that was not my intention. I was just venting like everyone else, but fully realize I very, very fortunate to have this vent.
Sounds like you're (unfortunately) a pro at bring injured/sick on vacay. That stinks!! I am not.., and I think I packed about every medication possible to handle any ailments except for eye stuff lol. I'm definitely not letting my eye ruin my trip, just wishing it was better already!

Don't worry. I'm just jealous. I wasn't judging you.
Can you get student health services to give you another shot? Or have your doc document that you have had a full series and an additional shot might cause harm? (Says the girl who had a tetanus shot too close to a previous one and had my shoulder swell up like a football.)
Oh probably. But mostly I want them to stop being ridiculous about this

'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
