Is this your first? Not to freak you out but I was induced on a Monday at 8 am and she didn't come until 2:45 am on Wednesday. I didn't belive the nurse when she told me (many times) that it could take that long...so just be prepared with lots of reading material!!! DH and I were starting to get a little stir crazy!
Thanks so much guys!!! I'm running around like a crazy person trying to get everything done before tonight. I have a hair appointment at 4 so I look good when he first sees me (kidding, well about him seeing me), and then we're headed to the hospital! I'll keep you all posted. Elijah can't wait to meet all of you!!!!
I was 4-5cm dilated a week ago and having a bunch of contractions the past few days, so hoping he isn't too stubborn, but know this could be a long process. Eeeekkkk!!

You are in SOOOOOOOOOOO much better shape than I was! I hope it's quick!! I don't think I was even 1 cm on day 2! And she was born 1 day shy of 42 weeks!

That's awesome! You can skip the cervidil and go right to the pitocin then. Definitely will speed things up. I went from 5-10cm in 40 minutes when I was induced with Lucas. Good luck!!!!

Eh. Don't listen to her! With my first, I was induced at 8:30 a.m., water broke at 10:30 a.m., had a baby in my arms at 12:20 pm.

Good luck, Rikki! Blessings to your family!
Obviously everyone is different but I had no idea it wouldn't just "happen" and it was very mentally draining and I was getting very frustrated. So with everyone saying "happy baby day" all I was pointing out is that could be unrealistic and try not to have a time line in your head like I did.

You know you're not supposed to say "My labor was 48 hours" to a person who's just starting her first labor, right? That's all I'm sayin'.

I get that but I wish I knew that it could take that long. I wasn't in labor for 48 hours - I sat around for a day and a half while my "cervix ripened" because they were trying to force a baby to come when she wasn't ready. I was in labor for about 10 hours. I had everyone telling me these quick stories too and it really got me down and it was very emotional when it wasn't happening as fast as everyone said it would.
Probably in case they want to bump you up - I was at MGH and I had to wait a bit too - mostly because they were busy and had a few unplanned c-sections going on at the same time too.
Probably impossible to do but I'd close your eyes and try to nap then!
I had to check in at 7a. Finally got hooked up at 1030 because of other procedures. Can you at least get a bed and take a nap/play 20 questions from the nurses?
