In what world did it seem like a good idea to ever have someone's avatar next to something they didn't post? I can see people asking for the *additional* information of who the last poster was, but to put their avatar next to someone else's post is wrong and misleading as hell.

To be honest, I'm not upset. I just don't understand how someone, or a whole it department of people, who work in this field could ever imagine it a good thing to associate a person's avatar with another person's post. The whole point of an avatar is to identify posters. Linking posters with things they never said is deceptive, and clearly anyone who runs forums could have predicted it would create an outcry.
Ok, I'd like to point out, from all the posts I read my understanding of the problem was solely that the last poster was showing, not that there was an incorrect mismatch between the content being displayed and the user being associated with the content. That was definitely a bug with this change - the preview content was intended to be the last post in the thread.
For the people posting rude comments towards myself/PB, I'd really appreciate if you didn't. We're working hard to constantly update and improve our software. We don't like being your punching bag when we have good intentions.
To those that were kind and respectful, thank you. Again, we're still working on reverting our changes as you all have requested. Expect this update on Monday.

Try not to take it personally, Patrick. We've been pissing off message board operators since 2003 :-)
