I also posted this on my local board, but I thought you all would understand enjoying a splurge without going completely off the wagon. What do you eat at a fair/carnival? Funnel cake is a given, of course, but what else is worth the calories?
Why, why do you people post these things late a night?! It's 10 PM here & now I want all of these things.
Funnel cake popped up first, but you have that covered. The next thing I thought of was fried Oreos, so ditto Emsumm on that. I'm also with Taratru on sausage things & the green beans.....though I'm not sure I've seen those at a fair.
IDK, I haven't been to a fair in so long. DH hates them.

The only thing I can really think of is funnel cake - I'm not in to all the other fried stuff. There are lots of fall festivals here and I always get an apple dumpling - those are also worth it!
And what sorts of awesome fairs do you all go to where beer is served?? I'm jealous. H and I actually contemplated smuggling alcohol into our county fair last weekend.
I'm a corn dog type of person. And beer. Also fried curds.
Never really understood the appeal of funnel cake but people seem to enjoy it.
What?? This is crazy talk! How can you not like funnel cake?
I mean it's OK?? it's not like I take a bite, spit it out, and shout 'what is this garbage!'
I'd not had a funnel cake until I met MH. He always gets it when we are at a fair/festival. I'll have a couple of bites because he's all 'OMG! this is sooo good! you have to try it'. I'm just not really into non-chocolate sweets (aside: I've never had a cinnabon or a krispy kreme.) I'd rather save the calories for booze.
