How are you guys sleeping lately, position-wise I mean?
I'm not really having any trouble sleeping as of yet, besides the having-to-get-up-to-pee-three-times-a-night-thing, but I am still trying to roll over on to my stomach.
When I am not pregnant, I am a flamingo sleeper, so I sleep partly on my side, partly on my stomach with one leg propped up. It's the most comfortable way for me to sleep, but now, if I even dare roll over on to my hard stomach, I get kicked (LOL) and clearly sleeping on a hard ball isn't comfortable.
I tried to sleep with a body pillow last night, and it was too annoying. It got in the way, and generally wasn't comfortable. I have slept with a pillow between my legs, which helps, but doesn't always stop me from trying to roll over.
So anyway, how are you guys staying off your stomachs?

I used to sleep exclusively on my stomach but miraculously have shifted very well to side sleeping. I've never used a body pillow, though these days I am flipping between sides a lot more.
I'm a side sleeper anyway, so not much has changed but for the addition of a body pillow, which I put between my legs and seems to help with the back pain I've been having.
I ordered a snoogle, it's the only way I can stay off my stomach. I wake up on my back a lot.
The snoogle is just a body pillow right?
vmars I take a bath every night too---it's my bedtime ritual, and in our new place the water is so hot and awesome.
I have always been a restless sleeper, so I guess I will just have to fight through it for another couple of months. And then I get to go to the no sleeping thing, wheee!
I am a back/stomach sleeper by nature. I have tried anything and the only thing that works for me is having a pillow behind me so I can kinda lay on my back but I am slanted. If I lay on my left side without leaning back baby freaks out. I was walking on my stomach a lot too until I started doing this.
I am jealous you only wake up 3 times a night to pee. I literally wake up every freaking hour. How is there that much urine inside of me at that time of night anyways?!?!
I sleep on my side/stomach, hugging my body pillow (including between my legs). It's comfy. My stomach gets supported by the body pillow that way, so it works for me. Normally, I sleep on my stomach.

Yes but provides better support than most and curves to your body.
I thought baths could only be 100 degrees? I miss hot baths so much!

I have read that a bunch of times, but I have also read that since bath water is almost instantly cooling down, and not likely to raise your body temperature, then there is no reason to worry about it. Of course the water shouldn't be scalding my hot, and you just have to be smart about it. So I don't, and I've taken a hot bath almost every night since finding out I was pregnant. My mom and several other friends also were big bath takers during pregnancy, and all of them have healthy children.
I did avoid them for most of the first trimester though.
That's my biggest issue with the body pillow...every time I move, it's like a big production to move it too. It's really annoying.
I am having this problem. I sleep with it to my back when I'm on my left side and hug it when I'm on my right. I end up on my back a lot, too. I'm finding it harder to roll over in the middle of the night-- guess my center of gravity is shifting.
I'd always been a right side sleeper, but I switched to the left after getting pregnant because I heard that was better. Lately I've been sleeping on both, and I asked at my appointment Friday and it doesn't matter.
I tried a pregnancy pillow but didn't really like it. I sleep with a regular one between my legs and then usually have another one I curl up and cuddle with.

My baby moves a ton on my left side also.
And going 2 hours without using the bathroom at night is a long time for me. I could spend 30 minutes on the toilet and Even then I never feel like I fully emptied by bladder.

I am just...not really sleeping. I am sick of sleeping on my left side and I cannot turn over to the right side without pain (pelvic pressure/lightening/all that jazz). Pillow between the legs has helped a bit lately, and I also prop my head up on two pillows. There is yet another pillow propped under my right side of my back so if I roll that way, I'm not flat on my back.
I am SO excited to plant face first onto pillows post delivery. omg it will be heavenly!!! I will cherish sleeping on my stomach for the rest of my life!!!

It is basically a skinny body pillow; It's curved on both ends. I sleep with my head on one end, and my legs wrapped around the other end. I do still wake up bc my arm falls asleep sometimes, or I need to switch sides. I've decided that sleeping will not be comfortable until this kid is out - but the snoogle helps a little bit. I'm a stomach sleeper till death do us part - this side sleeping shit is for the birds.

I basically just roll from one side to the other, several times a night. Sometimes I wake up on my back.
I hated my body pillow, so I just sleep with two pillows for my head, one between my legs, and one behind my back that I move when I roll to the other side. It sounds more complicated than it is. lol
I'm just about to go to sleep (11.30pm) so I'm already In bed.
Lying on my left side, small cylander cushion between my knees, 2 pillows under my head (though I'll ditch one shortly) and a wedge cushion behind my back. That's right now, but I'll probably roll in half an hour and have the wedge under my bump instead.
I'm more likely to roll into my back from lying on my left than my right for some reason. I will have to bring up another cushion for under my bump on the left. The knee cushion is only recent due to some hip pain earlier in the week and it seems to have helped a lot!
I'll wake up in the morning with a pain in my right ear from the pressure on it most of the night... Odd, I know. But it's really sore!
When did you stomach sleepers have to move to your side? I've been a stomach sleeper my whole life, so this will be a big adjustment.
I can still lay on my stomach for short periods of time- but, I tried to start sleeping on my side very early on. Maybe 10ish weeks- I knew that I would have to sleep on my side and the sooner I could adjust the better.

Another stomach sleeper checking in.
I have a body pillow I got at Target that I've been using - it was around $10, which was more what I was willing to pay as opposed to the Snoogle. My H has graciously been sleeping in our guest room so I have enough room in the bed for it. It's basically the size of a person, but I have to have it as otherwise I get pretty bad hip pain. I sleep on either side with my belly kind of propped on it and my top leg bent on top of it. Sometimes my bottom leg is straight underneath me and sometimes it's bent under the pillow.
I would like to sleep more on my stomach but I get kicked to high heaven if I do, and it's getting strong enough where it can hurt.
Yankees21 - I started sleeping more on my side once it felt like I was sleeping on a hard ball, which was uncomfortable for me. For a while I was able to do a half stomach half side position then around probably week 20 I had to switch to just my side because the half stomach position also got uncomfortable.
When did you stomach sleepers have to move to your side? I've been a stomach sleeper my whole life, so this will be a big adjustment.
I'm 19 weeks and I still can kind of sleep on my stomach. I prop my knee on my body pillow and let my belly rest in the space I've created that way. I'm feel like I'm on my stomach, even if it's technically between the stomach and the side.
I've actually heard of people creating these elaborate pillow layouts strictly so they can still sleep on their stomachs all the way through.
When I am not pregnant, I am a flamingo sleeper, so I sleep partly on my side, partly on my stomach with one leg propped up.
Like this, unless it's too uncomfortable (most nights) or she starts kicking the crap out of me (most early mornings).
Mainly on my sides now, but I'm flipping sides all night because my hips ache like nothing else if I sleep on one for too long. I read to make sure your feet are right on top of each other instead of crossed when you lie on your side, and it does help with the pain... when I remember.
To be honest, it's just generally pretty awful these days, and I'm only 23w. It takes an hour or two for me to un-stiffen in the mornings.

BaliHai - are you sleeping with a pillow between your legs? This was the only thing that helped me with my hip pain while sleeping. For me it had to be a fluffy long pillow - I've got a body pillow, but a king-size one would probably also work. Something that kept my whole top leg propped up.
