I have a hard time rereading. I can if it's been long enough that I don't remember what happens, but I don't think I'll ever have books that I read every year like you mentioned.
Usually once is enough, but there are a few books I have read over and over again.
I always tell my students that rereading is good. New thinking, new understanding and reading for different purposes! I say totally fine and your DH doesn't know what he's missing.

I agree.
Catcher in the Rye was my favorite book growing up. I probably read it ten times before I was 20. It's so interesting to read it now as an adult.
I love rereading certain books. Some are just guaranteed to chill me out and put me in a good mood. Reading "The Dark is Rising" around Christmas time is one of my favorites.

All the time. I've probably read To Kill A Mockingbird and Lonesome Dove 10 times. I usually skim all the books in a series before a new one comes out. I've also found that I like listening to audiobook versions of books I enjoyed reading. If it's been several years since I read it, listening to it is almost like a brand new book, but I already know I'm going to like it, and it's ok if I get distracted while I'm listening to it and miss a bit. Having a good book to listen to makes housework go faster.
Once is enough for books, definitely. It's rare that I re-watch movies too, so there's that. I could probably count on one hand the movies I like to watch more than once.
Yes. There are 5 books that I re-read at least once a year. I've read the HP series at least 4 times all the way through, the earlier books I've read more. When Deathly Hallows came out, I read it through in a 4 hour sitting, cried, took a dinner break and started it over again.
I read about 4-6 books a week on my commute though (3hours round trip). So it's not like I'm missing out on new stuff due to re-reading.
