Oh, Sonrisa. I am so, so sorry. I do want to say, though, that you are such a wonderful mom for working so hard to help your baby through this difficult time. I look up to you so much for being as strong as you are.
I'm so sorry. ((hugs)) Did your dd do ok wiht the news?
Right now it's just words. Earlier today she had said "Grandad is dying. He's not sick. Sick is something you get better from. You don't get better from dying" (our mantra with her lately) and then added "But he's going to get better anyways and then we can play together again." I think it will be more real tomorrow when she sees he is gone from the hospice bed (or he and the bed are gone).
We read jellybeans together (a book about death with a cat and a bunny eating jellybeans) and talked about how he can now share jellybeans with grandpa and other friends and family.
gretchenindisguise: so am I. And that he got to see him this morning and give him a big hug. And that his last visit with DD on Saturday was so sweet (she held his hand, told him she loved him and blew him kisses)
I am glad your Dh was around though. And very glad your last visit w kiddo was a good one. It sucks no matter what, but sometimes the sweet memory eases the pain a little later as it will stick out in your mind.
