I let Macy watch up gabba gabba on the iPad every so often. Her 3 year old cousin has the nabi jr tablet for kids that has a lot of puzzles and games and learning apps. Macy really likes this one that has a bunch of animals or something and you push on each one to count them and it says the numbers out loud. I feel like she's actually learning something and she doesn't play with them that often so I don't have a problem with it.
I think it's the same as TV, but possibly more addictive. The thing I don't like about apps specifically is that they tend to isolate people from one another. At this age, we probably all interact with our kids while they're on the phone/iPad. But that won't last forever, and I don't want to be one of those families where every person has their own i-device and they sit around the dinner table in their own little worlds. I already have to make a conscious effort not to fritter away my time on my phone while DH and I are (or could be) hanging out.
But I do use my phone as the nuclear option, like in the plane or in a waiting room. DH is quicker to pull it out and I don't stop him. And Kai watches TV at daycare. So I'm not in the "absolutely no screen time" camp, but I do limit it. And I really don't care what other people do when it comes to TV/i-devices.

I let her play with the iPad but there really aren't any apps that hold her attention long. She uses it maybe 10 minutes a day and not every day. In the grand scheme of what we do on a daily basis, it is a very short period of time, so I don't feel guilty about it. I just wish I could use the iPad without her freaking out. I do regret that part.
She watches 2 shows a day as well. It will be less now that I'm back to work.
Brady just likes looking at photos and videos of himself. I do have a counting app and itsy bitsy spider but he maybe plays the apps 20-40 mins a WEEK on average

My kids get as much screen time as they want. But the only app Adeline cares about is BUBBLES. And she only cares about it, maybe, 15 seconds a day, if that.
She does love carrying around Hs old phone as if it's a security blanket. Because, really, do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do isn't really how I'm going to parent and I always have my phone.

Yep - he has the fisher price nursery rhymes apps and the PBS one. He also likes the sing-a-majigs app...but those things freak me out. He loves TV too so I obviously dont think theres any difference there. I do like that the apps are interactive though, whereas the TV isn't. But he only gets to see an app if he needs a distraction, like appointments or on car trips, etc. I am just very relax about the screen time stuff. I feel like he isn't a zombie to technology (yet, and if he does, then that will change big time), but its a big part of our lives so I dont really feel the need to keep him from it.. I dont feel like it'll hurt him right now. (my opinion! I'm not saying anyone else isn't right or justified in theirs though... dont attack me! lol)

I'm more comfortable with apps than TV because they're at least a little interactive. I have a few on my phone and iPad for C, but he only gets them as a last resort when we're driving or something else he hates. I have one drawing one and a couple Fisher Price ones that sing and count.
I'm still sticking to the no TV rule. He watched a few minutes of Yo Gabba Gabba on a flight in March, but I don't think he's watched since.
This for us too. My kids don't watch TV, but the ipad comes out for DS2 in an emergency. DS1 get the ipad a few times a week for about 30 mins. He has drawing/writing apps on there.
But for DS2 it's mostly animal sounds or watching home videos DH has saved on there. Phone only in emergency while at Drs. or similar.
