Our 6th grade to a "Graduation Trip" to a water park. We all learned to shave just before that trip. I have no idea how many years old that would have made me though.

I first shaved in 4th grade. When my mom found out she went ballistic. She tried to tell me I was allowed to shave until I was 13. I was and am very furry with dark brown hair and pasty white skin. I was getting made fun of so much as school. I eventually talked her into a compromise.
I started shaving my arms in HS. I spent nearly an hour getting my face threaded today (brows, lip, sideburns, etc.) I am seriously considering laser hair removal at some point.
I was 4th grade and did without my mom's permission. She was pissed. Seems like in my circle is was 4th or 5th grade with one or two girls waiting until 6th. I remember because one has thick thick dark hair and it drove me nuts since she wore shorts or a skirt year round.

I don't recall exactly. I remember many of the other girls made fun of me in gym class in 10th grade for not shaving, but I don't recall being particularly phased by it. But I know I was regularly shaving by the time I started college.
My parents didn't care, but I'm blonde, so it doesn't show that much either way. I was homeschooled until 9th grade, and prior to high school most of my best friends were guys, so there wasn't much pressure.

I was in fifth grade, so ten years old. I asked my mom one day if I could start shaving my legs, so she taught me how to do it. I wasn't allowed to get my ears pierced until age 13, but shaving my legs wasn't a big deal.

I would let her start shaving if that is what she wants. I was either 9 or 10. I took one of my mom's razors and did it myself. I shaved for a while before she noticed and she wasn't happy about it. I had really dark hair and really pale skin.
My poor 4 year old has inherited my hairy genes. She noticed the hair on her legs recently and thinks it means winter is coming since she's growing her winter fur.

7th grade, but I was soooo embarrassed to bring it up to my mom, and kids were making fun of me. Only one of my friends in 6th grade did, and then we moved and everyone in the new school (7th grade) already did. It was so awful. I plan on asking DD early, and letting her decide. I would much rather embarass her on accident at home by bringing it up too early, than have her be afraid to ask me about it and be embarrassed at school.
I think I was around 11 and it was around 6th grade. I don't think I actually *needed* to yet, but I wanted to that I'd fit in with the other girls. My mom didn't care, but until I was a more assertive older teenager I had to just the kind of menthol smelling men's shaving cream because it was cheap. I finally got her to buy me the fancy fruity scented kind in high school. Ironically, I now use the solid men's shaving disks voluntarily because I get a way closer shave with them (and the TSA doesn't bitch about solids when I fly!).
Yup, same. For some reason she was horrified when I later shaved my thighs... uh, even 20 years later it is necessary!
Lol. On one episode of Golden Girls, the ladies had a conversation about shaving above the knee. The majority concluded that only harlots shaved their thighs. Rose, of course, was confused why anyone ever would do that. The lone dissenter goes without saying.
All in my world is explained... I didn't know that?!
I know that at the time, she was an "older" mom, it was super fine on her thighs so she didn't understand why I shaved there. But still, as a thirty-something I still definitely need to shave my thighs. Gross.
9ish, I'm very pale and have dark hair. I asked my mom and she showed me how. I would have been pretty upset if she said no, she's the type of person who picks her battles.
