Do it! Ok maybe not alllll red. I really like the cream up top and the red on bottom look.
I do all sorts of decor/painting stuff in my house that people think I am nuts for but they always seem to end up loving it. I say do it because you know in a few years you care getting new cabinets anyways. My house isn't my forever home or even a house that we plan on ever selling. We are going to tear it down when we build our new house across our property in several years. So I get the freedom to do whatever I want without feeling like I am ruining something or feel like it's permanent. It's so much fun!

I think the modern one that shostakovich is awesome. I have a friend with that kind of kitchen
I don't like it in the pictures you posted, because I think it looks like a kind of fake way to get cherry cabinets and I think cherry cabinents are kind of out of style (no offense to those that have them, they are just a few years out of date).
Our kitchen is supah tiny so ALL RED would be bad, but we have white cabinets that we put red vinyl inside and I love it. We also have white tile counters with a lot of red accents around like dish towels and cannisters etc.
I love red and I love colored cabinets so I say GO FOR IT - and PIP!
I have a 1920s bungalow with the original kitchen cabinets/built in nook and last year, I took the kitchen from being the plain "boring" cream color to a shabby shic/cottage feel with "vintage" green walls, gray-blue cabinets and white trim.

i think i'd go with red accents (painted wood table, clock, towels, etc.) before i committed to red cabinets. they seem like they'd get old fast, and might discolor (especially if they're painted).
i like some colorful cabinets, but something about red feels a little intense. one of the houses we almost bought had a black and white harlequin floor, white cabinets, black countertops, white subway tile backsplash and then a red upholstered banquette and red accents everywhere. it was so charming and definitely got the red across.
I think I like it... I really like the second option with just the lower cabinets red.
Red is my fave, though. Our last house, I painted our kitchen cabinets white and the walls a deep red. Love, loved it.
I'm a fan of this as well. Our walls are a deep red with white cabinets. Because the cabinets take up a lot of the walls, the red isn't as overpowering. Or you could do Red walls with the distressed cream cabinets you talked about.

And I still love it.
Um, PIP please! That sounds adorable.
I didn't forget about you.
Here you go:
The first pic is of the cupboards above the sink (again, blue cabinets, green wall above).
The second is the awesome floor to ceiling cabinets (don't know that they make them like that anymore) - you can see a hit of green wall in the background.
The third pic is of the nook (just because I love it so much).

I dig it, but every room in my house is a different (very bright) color, and I live in an area where that's very common. It's only paint and it's your house--go for it!

I think it's fun! Some people don't like color. I'm not one of those people. Especially if you're going to live there for awhile, just do it. You can always paint over it before you sell.
My il's have teal green blue ish kitchen cabinets and it looks great.
