So there's a possibility I'm getting flowers tomorrow. Do you tip the flower delivery person? I'm always torn on this. In theory, the flowers are a surprise gift. For all you know, it could be a group of Jehovah's witnesses ringing your doorbell. And what if you don't have any cash on you? But at the same time, I feel weird not tipping a delivery person. I never carry cash though. I'd have to go get cash somewhere, then break it down to small bills somewhere else. It seems like a pain in the ass.
They charge an arm and a leg for flower delivery, so I shouldn't feel bad about not tipping, right?
Nope. Do you tip FedEx? I think it's weird to tip delivery people... I guess pizza people make sense because they drive their own car...
I never thought of it like that, but it makes total sense.
I don't tip FedEx, but I give them drinks every once in a while. We always have bottled water, gatorade, and soda in our fridge and I'll offer them one sometimes. But I do the same thing for the landscapers and courtesy officers in our neighborhood, usually when it's hotter than balls and they look like they're having a rough day. Once I gave the FedEx guy a Klondike bar. I think he was about to cry, he was so happy. (We get a lot of packages, so I see the guy fairly often)

No way. Don't even worry about that. You are being presented with a gift and not expected to tip. Delivery fees and the cost if delivery are worked into the price.
I use to deliver flowers. I only got tipped by old people. I always tip at least $1. I used my own vehicle to deliver and the bitch running the shop said the delivery fee was hers and wouldn't share it with me. After that I said screw it and quit.

Whenever I've gotten flowers, which is rare, they were delivered to my office. It is a secure building so the delivery person just dropped them off in the lobby, had the receptionist call me, and left. No chance for me to even think about tipping.

You people and your beverage generosity!
Ha! Not two minutes ago, I threw a couple of cold cokes down to the guys picking up the recycling. It's hot out!
