She really is beautiful. I wonder if any of them will break away, or if they are all so brainwashed and living the life that they will stay.
Jessa would have been my guess for a more independent personality, but who knows... I guess it's more likely the younger ones would break free, since Jim Bob and Michelle are older and probably less involved with them, just by virtue of the fact that they have so many kids.
I would think the odds are against them, with that many kids someone has to break. I'm counting on Jinger.
They are brainwashed though. Apparently the camp that Josh and Joseph attended are for rebellious boys- not your run of the mill summer camps. Although I wouldn't expect any camp ran by Gothard to be normal. Some of the girls have also attended a similar camp (so I've read.)
I think last summer (or was it the summer before hand?) we saw Jana being a camp counselor at a girl's camp. Supposedly that one is also for rebellious girls and Jana had previously attended it.
And yes, my understanding is that para-military thing that Joseph did last year was for rebellious boys and is also brainwashing.
Yeah, I recently started reading more about this Gothard/Quiverfull stuff and it is pretty scary. The Duggars put a happy, wholesome spin on a movement that IMO is decidedly more malevolent and harmful in reality and on the fringes (particularly toward women).
You must have missed Jim Bob's pep talk to Josh on his wedding day. "It's kind of like Legos."
I would have said Tetris. But, you know, with thrusting.
I wonder if they ever covered oral sex. Or orgasms. Or BJs.
The man's, I'm sure, because that's what makes babies, and because men are more important than women (to them). The woman's, I highly doubt it. I hope I'm wrong but I'm probably not.
I can't help but think that the Duggars care mostly about whether the male is worth $$$. Otherwise I would guess they'd NEVER approve.
Also, what happens with the two older ones if they don't find an approved suitor? Do they live with mom & dad forever? I can't imagine living at home into my 20's without going to college, building a life, etc. Sure they are midwife training, but aren't they more or less just waiting for a man?
Yup, under their dad's headship til they get married. I doubt they will move out
They are conservative, but do encourage the husband to make sure his wife's needs are fulfilled, and include multiple chapters on female pleasure/how to do it.
Didn't Josh and Anna listen to some cd about having a loving physical relationship as man and wife as they left their wedding? I sort of remember that but could be totally wrong.
Part of me wonders if part of why Jim Bob has turned down suitors for the girls is because he wants them home to take care of the younger kids.

I want to rescue the Jill Duggar girl. I was unaware of her existence. (probably because I can watch Duggar material for a max of 30 seconds at a clip)

Isn't Jill the second oldest girl? Is she the one who does all the packing for all of their trips?
Those poor older girls basically do so much child care.
I think Josie is going to be the rebel, I think all the older girls will be gone and Michelle and Jim Bob will just not be that invested in raising her, since they haven't raised one in about ten years.

I agree. The odds would be that a few would break away, come out as gay, have premarital sex, etc. But idk, they are the Duggars... things seem to go smoothly with them.
One of my friends *broke away* from this type of life. In fact, her and her husband say it is a straight up cult. Her husband actually stayed with the Duggars for a time. They cripple you from able to think for yourself. My friend and her husband met while working for the *ministry* and they started reading the Bible for what it is and started moving away from the belief system their families and the Duggars subscribe to. They had to pretend to court but their parents didn't give permission to marry but they did anyway so his parents actually don't speak to them anymore. Her parents have since left the cult, but the damage has been done. It's really sad. I am really surprised either one of them walked away still wanting a relationship with God given how they were raised. I am Christian and we actually met through bible study, but I wouldn't blame them if they had a bad taste in their mouth the rest of their lives with what their families put them through.
And this:
"All of our family is involved in this relationship. It is an exciting time."
WTF
It's true though. My friend was 26 when she married. She was under the cultish thumb until she was 26!!!!
