bonquiqui I need a rec for a tinted moisturizer or lightweight BB cream that won't make me break out!
Good luck, if you are anything like me, they all make me break out. My issue is the sunscreen ingredients. Even the dr.jart detoxifying which everyone claimed was a miracle made me break out. I use Laura mercier oil free tinted moisturizer sparingly, and it is the best I have found for my skin.
Can you rec a brand of cheap pressed powder? I need to leave one in my office, one in my car, and one in my bag. In the past, I've gone somewhere (Sephora etc) and had someone help me match my skin tone. Now, I just need cheap backup makeup and I don't want to spend $$$ x3, so I want a drugstore one.
What brand can I buy and how do I match myself in the drugstore aisle?
Please and thank you
I have never tried it, but a few of my friends rave about NYC's smooth skin powder, and it is around 3 or 4 dollars. I don't claim to be a drugstore girl, but my bestie is the drugstore diva. I have also heard good things about L'Oreal true match.
I also know you didn't ask about loose, but my bestie swears the elf loose powder is a dup for my MUFE loose powder
The downfall of drugstore is that you cannot swatch. This is a huge negative to me, but i would just take in my old powder, or foundation and hold it up, and try to find the best look possible. You can always return it if it is not right. Again, since i am not drugstore savvy, my methods might not be the best, but you can definitely return.

Is foundation outdated? I've been using bb cream/ tinted moisturizers for about three years now, but a recent bout with acne has left me with some scars, so I feel like I need a little more coverage and was considering doing foundation, but I kind of feel like it's too heavy with all the other options out there.
I don't think it is outdated in the least. I actually prefer a foundation. I don't like super heavy foundation, i prefer a lighter one, but would prefer the coverage of a foundation. What foundation are you currently using? Have you tried a new CC cream?

Best blush for pale skin? Pink undertones, not yellow.
And I need good staying power
I only have 7 blushes and need more
I am pale with pink undertones, and the best blush of all time are the tarte amazonian clay blushes. Hands down best ever. The staying power is fabulous, the colors are great, and it is a all around excellent.
I would rec the following colors, although I love them all. Blissful, dollface exposed and amused. Dollface is more subtle, amused is brighter, exposed is a nude that at first glance may look boring, but it is a must have, and blissful is my all time fav coraly peachy pink. They are all wonderful.
This x 1000. I have Mac pinch o' peach which used to be my go to or Nars orgasm but this one is superior in every way. I've had it over 2 years and I've finally hit the pan in a small spot. With everyday use.
kristie I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen too. It's a lose lose because my skin breaks out, I try to make myself presentable for work, my skin breaks out...
What about if I have very little in the way of eyelashes? They're dark, just not very many and short. Should I look at falsies? That just seems like a lot of work.
I don't do falsies, but they are definitely an option, and there is a huge variety of styles. There are super dramatic to very natural looking. I don't think it adds that much extra to the routine, and you would probably get used to it, but this is one of the few things that I don't do. I would recommend trying a combination of mascaras. I would use a voluminzing, and a lengthening. I love they're real, by benefit. Do you curl your lashes currently? They also have lash extensions done at the salon, but they are pricey. I would first try to find a good combination of mascaras to maximize what you have, and maybe try some lashes first for sure.

I'm using Tarte's Smooth Operator. I haven't used a foundation in so long, I think that part of my reticence comes from using Covergirl growing up. I have not tried CC Cream- what is it exactly? I don't get it! I'm so unhip.
Have you tried any of the stains? They really are fabulous blushes, but I can see how they need more variation. It does seem that they are catered to us ghostly gals. lol
I haven't tried the stains. Right now, my most suitable powder blush is from Wet 'n Wild, lol.
I mix and match a couple of drug store brands with the stuff I get from Sephora.
I did get a sample of Benefit's "Yes, They're Real" mascara for my birthday this month and I really like it and the highlighter that came with it. I can't remember the name of it and I *could* get out of bed and look at the name but that would require effort and I'm too lazy to do that.
Actually Wet n'wild are ranked pretty high. I have a few, and embarrassingly enough, they are unopened, but I am going to try them out. People rave about them.

I find the first few days I have to let it dry a bit since it's too wet and makes my lashes stick together. After that point I find its great though.
I also use diorshow but ONLY the waterproof formula. I only use waterproof period. I recently got the L'Oreal million lashes and it's good too. As is CG lash blast. Nothing seems to hear Dior though.
I should say, I use waterproof mascara only. I look like a raccoon without it lol

It is a color correcting cream, and is supposedly taking it a step further than the BB creams. It is supposed to provide the same benefits of BB creams, but improved, and with the addition of color correcting. I would say BB leans more towards a tinted moisturizer, and CC leans more towards foundation. CC is lighter than a foundation, but a provides a bit more coverage than a traditional BB

bonquiqui I don't have the Watts Up, just the blush and a couple of eye shadow palettes.
I was in Sephora last week but I just bought perfume (Aquolina's Pink Sugar and Lady Gaga's Black perfume) plus some Philosophy bath gel and lotion (Pure Grace)
Im trying to be good about not buying more makeup. I have a wedding to pay for next year!!
What are your favourite lip products for dry chapped lips. They have always been dry growing up.
Here is a category that I can go all drugstore on you. lol I have one sephora rec, but it is pricey, and you can totally go the drugstore route with this
Fresh sugar lip is fab from sephora
As far as drugstore, I would recommend the Nivea lip butters. SOOOO smooth
I also rather enjoy the baby lips by maybelline
If you are looking for stains, i love the revlon just bitten lipstains. They have some moisturizing properties, come in great colors, and have fab lasting power
I also rec revlon lip butters. They go on smooth, are buttery soft, and come in a wide variety of colors

I have very dry sensitive skin, and as mentioned, i much prefer a light foundation. I like both UD, and tarte bb, but they might not be the best option for breakouts.

I just put that Sugar on my lips. I love it so damn much!

I've been using Cover FX's CC cream and it's fantastic, actually I was going to write amazeballs. I had to up my blush use because it evened me out so much and the ruddiness I naturally have is no longer showing through, I also barely need concealer and it's no where near as thick as foundation.
I've never worn much makeup, but have started to a bit more when I'm out and about. I have the Nars tinted moisturizer in Finland, the birthday sample of the Yes, They're Real mascara (which I like a lot) and everything else is cheap drugstore.
I never wear eye shadow, I feel like I suck at it. If you had to recommend just one eye palette to start with, which would it be? I'm also always drawn to kits so I get a little bit of everything.
Can you rec a brand of cheap pressed powder? I need to leave one in my office, one in my car, and one in my bag.
I highly recommend the L'Oreal true match pressed powder. It's my go-to. As for matching, it's always hard with drugstore brands. I usually just ask the sales associate that works in the makeup department to help me, and I can get a pretty good match just by holding up the powder to my neck.
The true match is nice because it has a corresponding liquid foundation. I find it easier to match using the foundation bottle, and then grab the pressed powder that corresponds with it.
ELF also has a pretty decent pressed powder. I use the true match in the morning, and I have the ELF one in my purse for touch ups if I need it.
