Ok, is this a lame idea? Emily's birthday is on Tuesday. Since most of the babies can't have cake, cookies, etc, I was thinking about bringing in a box of animal crackers as her "birthday treat". Is that stupid?
That is a really good idea and a nice way to celebrate your daughter bday
my random: I was so excited for this weekend and looking forward to it being fun & relaxing. But nope. In-laws called last night and said they were planning to come up and spend it with us. There goes all the fun. They hate doing stuff and are very cheap so everything is "tooooooo expensive!" Oh well
I now have an excuse to try some of the desserts in my to try stack one of my friends is having a party, and I asked if she would like me to bring dessert, and she said I don't have to, but if I want to that would be nice.
I love excuses for baking. Especially when I have an excuse to make cupcakes pretty
I applied for a fantastic position last night and I had my husband check over my cover letter. He said it was my strongest yet and he wants to use mine as a reference when he rewrites his!
The conversations I overhear by my fellow kindergarten moms are hilarious. I feel bad but it's becoming a highlight of my morning. I feel like it's HS all over again, the moms are already making cliques!
There are a lot of boys that are teasing M about kissing and marrying "Jack" I witnessed this morning. I'm not sure how I feel about this. She said some boys are teasing her yesterday calling her a baby butt. It's on my radar now.
Finished episode 10 of Season 4's Breaking Bad. Where Gus gets his revenge at the Mexico "meeting." OMG! OMG! I love this show!
I hate this time of year. It's 30* in the morning, but 80* by noon.
There is one, single, lonely tree out of about 20 that is changing colors at my office. It is at the perfect color changing stage. I wish I could freeze it and leave it that way forever. It's beautiful!
I hate impatient people. One of our admin assistants sent me an email while I was at lunch yesterday to ask me if she should put some maps in our brochure rack. I went into interviews as soon as I got back from lunch and didn't get out until it was time to go home. So this morning when I get in she says she looked for said maps and couldn't find any. I told her that if she would've waited for me to reply, I could've told her that I recycled them because they are old and change every year and we don't have the new ones yet. Holy crap chica, give me a chance to reply!
We wanted to go to the cabin this weekend because the trees are changing and this is my favorite time of year to go there, but once again, the il's are talking about going too so we aren't going this weekend now. But that's ok because if we go next weekend, I can take Monday off and we can stay until Monday since dd doesn't have school Monday or Tuesday!
I went to bed at 9 last night so I am excited to watch the premiere of Nashville tonight.
It was really good, very intense!
My random: I'm getting out of work at 1:00 tomorrow and taking my car for new tires and an inspection. My plan is to walk over to the mall, have lunch, and have a couple of hours all to myself. I plan on doing some damage in Bath & Body Works and I need to find new black flats since mine are literally falling apart.

Do you tell your inlaws when you're planning on going to the cabin or do they just go every weekend? Why doesn't your H tell them you want it (alone) certain weekends? Is a shared cabin or is it just their cabin & they just let everyone use it?

We don't usually tell them because they would show up every time we went. His mom is very sensitive and would get all butt hurt if we told her we didn't want them there. The cabin was his grandparents' cabin. His parents inherited it when they passed away. So they pay all the bills (electric, water, internet, cable, etc.), whcih is why we feel like we can't ask them to not come. We help out by doing yard work, splitting wood, cleaning, that kind of stuff, but that's not the same. We don't mind when they come for the most part, but there are some times when we just want to spend time with the 4 of us and not have a million dogs and people running around. We like to go for 8 hour drives when we're there and with his parents there we feel like we can't do those kinds of things...that we need to spend time with them.
Who knew powdered animal fat could spontaneously combust? I hope there is more of an explanation later.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 71 were shut down Thursday morning after a trailer full of powdered animal fat caught fire.
The fire was reported about 9:30 a.m. on I-71 northbound just south of the I-71 merge with Interstate 75, near Walton. Emergency personnel on scene called for an ambulance but the driver refused treatment at the scene, emergency officials said.
The semi was not involved in an accident before the fire, Boone County dispatchers said. The trailer, which was registered to an Missouri company, was filled with 44,000 pounds of animal fat.
All northbound lanes were closed while firefighters put out the blaze. One lane reopened about 11:30 a.m., dispatchers said.
