This was our room in Hilton Head Marriott. The 3 of us stayed in the master. See the open shower?? See how you could easily take off the sprayer and spray everything in the bathroom and the bedroom!?!?
yeah....
ETA - look I found a close up. Did I mention its huge? You could wash the whole family if needed.
I mean, think about how much it sucks to shave your legs while you're cold and have goosebumps.
SERIOUSLY.
Tangent, this is why we never shower together. Being cold in the shower is the worst thing ever, and there isn't room for two people under the hot water. My parents have a shower with two shower heads and I think it's the most brilliant thing ever.
I'm just going to say that there is nothing romantic or attractive about my morning shower. I would need to shower before I showered in one of these rooms. This is not a lay out that allows you to comfortably shave all the places that need to be shaved and scrub all the places that need to be scrubbed. This is a layout for seductively running water over your body with strategically placed soap.
What I'm trying to say is I need my closed door and shower curtain. I wouldn't feel hot enough for my bathroom here.
Do architects never take a shit in hotel bathrooms? No one wants to see that, or sleep surrounded by that smell. Door and fan, please. I had an open/in-suite jacuzzi in my honeymoon suite (not the poconos, although that was the same, but I mean my wedding night at a local hotel). It was nice to have a huge tub, except it made the entire room hot and steamy, and I don't mean in the figurative honeymoon sense. Like I literally had sweat beads forming when DH filled it up.

No. Even most animals know better than to shit in the same place they sleep.
I've stayed in hotels where the bathroom had doors that slid or folded open to the room. It was nice to let some light in and have a view if you putting on makeup or in the tub, but you still had the option to close it off for privacy.

Huh. Our master suite in our last house, and in our current one, are rather open. I like it. Granted, the commode is has a solid door that can be closed, and a fan. I do draw a line there, lol. But our master bath is open to the bedroom, and the shower is open, as well, though architecturally it is a bit separated. Then again, we usually use the outdoor shower anyway (we live in the sticks).
But yeah, in a hotel I could see it being a little awkward. I don't mind the sink and/or tub in the open, but that might change when we have kids.
