My new 5S comes tomorrow so I can't comment on that but I do have a 4S and an iPad and I get motion sickness and vertigo pretty easily. It's done nothing to me at all. Matter of fact I think it's neat.
I'm not sure I am buying this whole "it's making me sick" thing.
As long as my contacts are in, it's fine. But when I'm not wearing them, I get dizzy and nauseous. That didn't happen before the update.
This is the first I've heard about the update making people sick. I thought it was just me. I have noise triggered migraines, get motion sickness, and get sick during 3d movies if they move too fast, so it's not like this was a huge surprise.
apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
It's so subtle that this whole thing is ridiculous, but it can be kinda annoying and it IS a battery drain. It can be disabled by activated motion reduction in the settings.
Yeah, I can't even find "motion reduction." I'm pretty sure my phone is too old to have a moving background (iphone 4, not even 4S).
If your device is new enough to update to ios7, it's a feature of ios7 and will be present. But it's seriously so subtle you have to chose a spot on your background and watch it closely in relation to the edges or icons. It's supposed to create a 3d effect.
The 'reduce motion' control is under the general settings in the accessibility submenu.
I didn't read the article, but my background picture on lock screen moves right to left just a slight bit when I tilt the phone. I might not notice except when I'm really paying attention to how the pictures lines up with the clock. I'm not a huge fan of the way the apps open and close but nothing that would make me feel sick. I do get sick in cars of I look at a phone or tablet screen for too long though!

Yeah, I'm seriously looking at my Accessibility menu right now. "Reduce Motion" is not one of the options.
I haven't noticed that on any of the 3 devices we have updated...iPhone4s, newest iPod, and iPad2.
I do watch DH play video games sometimes - and that does the have the tendency to make me feel sick. He was playing SimCity the other night and had the screen on the tv and when he would scroll really fast I'd have to look away because it made me feel off watching it. I'd think if that stuff makes me feel off then the iOS7 would too.

Hmm, maybe just 4s and above then. DH and my BIL have the 4 and it doesn't move, and has some other slight differences - none of the semi-transparency, for example.
