My favorite YA right now is The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa. It's refreshing to actually come across a creepy/scary series. I'm impatiently awaiting the release of the third book. I would probably say these books are more on the New Adult side then YA though.

Madeline L'Engle Wrinkle in Time series.
Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series.
Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Probably not cool, but I loved them. (I even had my Dad's Hardy Boys books, so they were the really old versions.)

Anything by John Green, especially The Fault in our Stars

Ditto Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games series, Divergent series.

For babies/toddlers, I love Sandra Boynton.

Yes! I was surprised how much I liked Immortal Rules and am about 20 pages in to The Eternity Cure right now.

Yes! I was surprised how much I liked Immortal Rules and am about 20 pages in to The Eternity Cure right now.

Eternity Cure has a bit of a story lag in the middle but really picks up for the end but the second really has some scary parts and I normally don't get freaked out by books. We should start a discussion when you're done with it:)
