I have Tucks, so maybe that's it. I'm also at the bottom of the container and I think they are juicier down there. I guess I could always wring them out a bit. Sometimes my ass could really use a witch hazel taco!
They will flare from time to time. Diet helps control them. I have had them forever and with my second pregnancy had a tremendous episode that brought me to the OB/GYN in agony. The nurse practitioner looked at me and said, "Oh, yeah - we can't help with this. You need a proctologist." That episode subsided (thank GOD) but after my delivery, deciding no more kids, and a couple more uncomfortable flare ups - I opted for surgery.
Oh, Holy Mother of GOD, that hurt like a bitch. I woke up from surgery asking for more pain killers and stayed on them round the clock for 2 weeks. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. My husband even says that is the worst pain he's ever seen someone in and he's witness 2 deliveries. I hated my proctologist after that; I still have a few skin tag type issues there and the doc offered to removed them in the office after all my swelling subsided. I looked at him like he was on crack and plainly stated I never intended to see him again, Thank you very much.
::sobs::
WHY did you tell me that story?? I had finally kind of resolved myself to surgery. Goddammit.
Sorry - I will say that after the first couple of uncomfortable weeks it was better and I don't have any issues any more. Be prepared to sit still and not do anything while you heal for the first week, the 2nd week is better - around week 6 post-surgery you are pretty much good to go. I was back to work after two weeks off but you definitely need the time to heal after this surgery.
Ladies! Please! Pushing out the babies isn't the only reason why you get hemorrhoids! It's all a part of gravity and being human.
I got one at the end of my pregnancy, had a c-section and never had trouble with it again. So finding out it's still lurking in there, biding it's time is really bad news.
When I was hospitalized on bedrest, one of my nurses told me about the plum sized hemorrhoid she had surgically removed. It made me wonder what she was seeing down there in my butt.
I get them and they are more annoying and itchy than painful. They were painful when I used to try to force myself to poop. Now I try to get to that I have to go now state so I don't have to do any straining.
