Our friends are all over the map with how they identify themselves (Rs, Ds, Libertarians, Independent, Moderate, etc.), but for the most part we all agree on certain things, which is probably partially due to our age (gay marriage, for example). And the things we disagree on are more that we disagree on the solution, not so much that there is an issue, if that makes sense. I would say that more of us tend Libertarian than anything else.
Our close circle of friends is very liberal, with just 2 conservatives that I can think of. Then there's DH's best friend who doesn't vote and everyone makes fun of him relentlessly.
Depends on the circle. College friends and family are very similar to DH and I. But friends we've made through work and our neighborhood - more of them are quite different. Just today- one friend posted something on FB that made me roll my eyes to the back of my head. She has very different views than I do and as such, I simply avoid the topic with her. Otherwise - we get along great!
My besties are all super socially liberal like me. We are also mostly j-school grads, so we do things like go see feminist documentaries at the UU church.
Many of my extended social circle are conservative. Probably caring more about social issues, but some are more passionate about fiscal conservatism. There are a couple that are pretty solely gun nuts. Several homeschoolers.
I'm guessing I disagree on more topics than not with 40% of friends and 75% of coworkers and 90% of relatives.

Yup. Very similar here.
Oh...i did have one friend who was anti-gay marriage, but he self selected his ass out of my group of friends. He was actually part of our wedding party and one of my husbands best friends, but when he married his racist bitch of a girlfriend he stopped having any time for us.
You don't see me crying. This is one way in which I have no interest in being "diverse."
I think 80 to 90 percent because i am indie. I am a bleeding heart liberal to my republican friends and an indoctrinated conservative to my liberal friends. My 2 best friends agree with me though on most things. We are each others' political refuges in the extremist shitstorm of politics around us.

Most of my crew is pretty socially liberal. I can think of two close friends that aren't. On non-social issues, we're all over the map. I have noticed that a good chunk of my conservative friends have gotten more liberal as they get older.
