I really do think the Naked pallete is overrated. I don't see a use for it unless you currently own zero eyeshadows. And the amount of tutorials on it is INSANE.
ELF stuff. I've gotten recommendations from people here and that stuff is not good. The eyelid primer is a hard stick that tugs and pulls my eyelid skin - tossed it. The lengthening mascara burned my eyes - tossed it. something else i tried was bad so i tossed it too. the only consolation is that it was super cheap so i didn't lose out on a lot of $$.
My only other issue with the cosmetics industry is the way a huge bulk of things are not really compatiblefor women of color. I have tried looking for foundation at Sephora and they can never find anything that matches my skin tone unless I buy and mix two shades of something.
I'm not a woman of color, but I have a similar complaint as someone with a very olive/yellow complexion, but not dark. Shades that are fair enough always look so pink compared to my skin. The shades that are yellow/green enough to match my tone are always too dark. I end up mixing a too-dark foundation with something much lighter but a little too pink.
Korean BB cream! I am pale with neutral to olive undertones (NOT pink undertones at all) and Korean BB cream has been awesome for me. Missha sells in the US through Misshaus.com so you don't have to take your chances buying on eBay or Amazon where you might get a fake product. You might try the shade #21 in the regular BB cream (it's the one in the red tube) Other than that Make Up Forever HD foundation in 117 works for me but is sometimes a touch too dark in the winter. Not super noticeable but it tends to be a summer product for me for that reason.
I can't limit it to only one product. NARS Orgasm Blush - it looked horrible on me MUFE HD foundation Smashbox foundation primer Benefit Erase Paste Bare Minerals foundation Diorshow mascara
All of these makeups you speak of are overrated to me. I am allergic to quaternium-15, which is a preservative used in practically all water based makeups and soaps, including many powder makeups. I can't even use Clinique (which is mostly garbage too).
I used to have so much makeup. It makes me so sad that I can't use anything good anymore. And what I can use is the most random selection in the world. I'm actually in love with some Guerlain mascara I found, but it smells like old lady perfume. Who perfumes mascara?
