I just went to put our laundry into the dryer, and I found H's hearing aid in with the clothes. The wet ones. I'm sure the hearing aid is dead and it costs $2400. I am feeling a mix of nauseated for having washed it and anger at H for not putting it somewhere safe.
Oh no! I'm so sorry. I will no longer get annoyed when DH leaves his lactaid packets in his pockets. A $2k+ electronic device deserves a LOT more attention
DH says takes the battery out immediately and open any compartments, take out anything else that is removable. Then try the bag of rice trick. Put the bag of rice someplace warm - on a heater or something.

Fingers crossed for you Womet that things dry out and still work.
I'm having an inner struggle of being lazy all day or being productive. There is a lot of raking that needs to get done here and DH won't be home until dinnertime from a trip. Plus some other various chores that need to get done. On the other hand a coworker borrowed me the last Divergent book Allegiant and I could spend the day reading that.
Yikes! I'm feeling serious anxiety just reading that. I'll hope for an electronics miracle.
Random: only five more days until DH comes to visit! We've been long distance for a month, and while I'm super independent, it's been harder than I expected, being in a new city where I don't know anyone and missing him.
I'm watching My First Place, and the episode is of a guy who is buying a house with his girlfriend, but is planning on spending his ENTIRE life savings and paying for the house in cash. He hasn't told his girlfriend yet.
I'm getting a strong "douche" vibe from him.
I've totally seen that episode! You're right, that guy was a total douche! Did you see the big "reveal" scene where he very dramatically tells the girlfriend that the house will be bought in cash? I remember it being so awkward.

I just finished my first 5k and made my goal. I walked a lot more than I thought I would but oh well I finished and it was fun. I have another one in 3 weeks and already am dreading how cold it will be.

bostonmichelle Congratulations on your 5k, that's great! I always dreaded pre-race cold, but it was always worth it when I crossed the finish line after!

Congrats! Cold races are a million times better than hot races.
My AW: We just moved into a new house on Friday and I can see the Rocky Mountains from our bedroom window (not super close, but I can see them).
Bragplaint? I have a cold that is kicking my ass. Dh is totally coddling me. Walking the puppy, picking up breakfast, made me dinner when I got home from work yesterday, making sure I'm set up with Chapstick/Kleenexes/water/etc. I wish I didn't feel like someone hit me with a baseball bat, but damn, dh. I could get used to this.
Oh man that's a lot of money down the drain. I hope the rice trick works!
My random: BMW invited us down to their performance center next month AND we get to put our own cars on the track!! They've never done that before. It's been a while since we've gone to the race track so I'm excited about this. We're trying to get a friend of ours an invitation too. He has an M3 and also a Tesla! But I doubt they'll let him bring a non BMW car on there haha. This is going to be a looong month.

I promise I am not a stalker.... but I saw your signature! I did the same race this morning and am also doing the Wakefield Turkey race too

I forgot to say congrats on your first 5k and making your goal. That is great!
womet, dude I hope the rice trick works. That would really suck of you do have to replace the hearing aids.
As for me, found a salon near my house and am in love! It's also next to a cool bakery/cafe and I'm enjoying an amazing cup of mocha while I wait for DH to come pick me up. Womet, we need to come here for coffee one day (Alon Bakery). I'm sure I'm the last person to know about this place but yeah for discovering it in time for holiday goodies.

Alon's has amazing desserts. I love going there and just lookng at the cool stuff they have.
One of DD's gymnastics coaches quit this week. I'm incredibly pissed off. She's been making all kinds of promises about how things would be different and better this year, how she was in it for the athletes and how much she loves them, talking all of us into signing a contract for another year.
She hasn't been helping at practice for weeks, the last time I saw her was last week when we had individual meetings with her. She's been making the other coach do all of the work. And at practice on Friday, we found out that she just up and quit. She never even TOLD us, we found out b/c one of the parents is friends with her outside of the gym and she told that parent.
I am just so furious. How do people do shit like that? Our tuition reflects the cost of having two coaches, since one coach isn't enough. Not to mention that there's no way that one coach can handle everything that comes with competing, tons of paperwork to do and things to order. It's incredibly frustrating and we'll probably have to take DD off the competition team because if we only have the one coach, he's most likely going to have to focus on the two higher level pairs.

That's okay. I swear I'm not a stalker either and saw your post on H&F and was like oh I was there too, I wonder if I saw her. Congrats on your pr!
Do you run with the Mystics on Wednesdays at the Lake? I'm going to try and start running then in the spring.

Ooh, how fun! Porsche is building a track out in LA, and apparently we'll be able to take ours on the track there. I cannot wait!
I had such a fun weekend. Step sis and her boyfriend came up and spent the weekend. We went to our alma mater's football game and had a fun time tailgating. The weather was perfect and our school won I need to do some laundry and clean up, but I am feeling so lazy now. I just want to lounge and watch bad tv!
I'm very ragey at the moment. I scheduled an appointment for a massage a month ago at the end of my last appointment. I showed up and there is no record of my appointment. Luckily my therapist is squeezing me in tomorrow and over booking herself.
