We strolled through Target on Friday night. I completely wandered off mid sentence when I caught a glimpse of the sparkle. Oh so shiny. I did refrain from buying anything though
When I walk in, it's like auto-pilot turns on. By the time I get to the checkout, I see that my cart is full and I think, who the heck put all this stuff in here??? lol
the other day, i went in there to buy some travel-sized toiletries, and came out $400+ in the hole. i was horrified when she read the total. granted, i bought a crapload of stuff and stocked up on lots of staples, but STILL. that is a problem.
Ash for the win.
But it is seriously so easy. I love me some Target.
I don't even think our Target has their Christmas section up yet. Is this possible?
I'm really excited this year. We bought David a 4ft tree for his room on sale last year after Christmas (originally $100 and we got it for like, 80% off). So we need to take him to pick out his ornaments, he's so excited. So far he said he wants to decorate it pink and turquois. This should be interesting! Thank god it will be contained in his room, lol.
Last week I went there just for command strips and came back with $80 worth of stuff and no command strips. lol
I know Command strips are one of those things that you realize you want them and need them immediately, but if you can plan ahead and have amazon prime, their pricing is so much better :-)
I took Em to Target the other day. She knew it was awesome and also loved the Christmas section. She was mesmerized by all of the sparkle and danced to Christmas music (I played one of those sample things they have by the CDs).
I freaking love that other people can go into that store for one specific thing and come out with 9 things you didn't know you needed - but then forget or almost forget the necessary item.
Target is just meh for me. I rarely spend more that $30 in there and if I do its because I bought clothes for E. I liked their maternity stuff but other than that have never been a fan of their woman's department. I probably could spend more if I really tried.

Really? Good to know, thanks! We always need command strips, actually. We use them a ton.

None of this makes any sense to me. Lol
Maybe it's because our target is small. The dollar bins are never as exciting as what others say the targets near them have. Plus normally when I go I'm on a budget and can't deviate from my list without fear of over drafting my accounts.

my mind doesn't understand any of this.
do you eat? do you use toiletries? what about housewares? kid clothes/shoes/toys/crap? need some electronics? what about some birthday cards? holiday candy? pajamas? lightbulbs?
ANYTHING YOU NEED. IT'S THERE.
it is the land o' plenty.
I get my toiletries, cards, candy, groceries at the store I work at. I'd rather go to JCPenney for clothes.

Oooh, @melissainabq, this IS good to know. We use a million every year when we hang lights in the windows. I will definitely have to check it out.
Dollar Spot it totally hit or miss for sure. I usually use it for parties. idoinjuly texted me to tell me they had Star Wars stuff and I used it to fill David's gift bags for his party yesterday. I find it way more useful now that I have a kid.
I left last night and I only spent $15!! It was a thanksgivvukah miracle. I love Target (and Costco). Our dollar spot kicks ass, they have all the new foods first, and I adore Cartwheel. My only complaint is that in a heavily Jewish area, their Chanukkah section is too small.
Fact: there is a person (probably more than one) employed by target who's job it is to make sure you spend $100 on each trip. I know this because she was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding, and i drove her to the airport. We got to talking and her corporate Target employment came up, so I was all "OMG! I LOVE that store, but eff if I can't get out of there for less than $100." She (swear to goodness) said: "Well that's good news for me, because my job is actually to stage and market the store in such a way that every guest spends at least $100."

I can't wait to visit their Christmas section this week. We need more outdoor lights, and I'm sure I'll walk out with other decorations too. I have all my indoor Christmas decor stuff from them and Gordman's (another place I love).
I've had to stay away from Target lately because I can't afford to drop 200 bucks on a trip when I get sucked in.
I finally signed up for a red debit card. And I have my cartwheel app. They still will get too much money from me this season. I wish I knew how to quit you, Target.
Yeah, the first time I went I was pretty meh and couldn't understand the big deal. Then I went to target after a few drinks, and yeah. It was awesome and it's been awesome ever since. Damn buzzed target shopping.
