We are about to get ours from Home Depot. They have a ge one I have been looking at. I am waiting to see if we can catch it on sale, but I doubt it. Michaels is having sales on them right now, and kmart/sears (weird) has some nice ones too.

Target. This will be our 6th year and it's held up very well. It's pre-lit. 2 years ago, one of the strands of lights was blown out. I replaced it and it's good as new.
I get them after Christmas. You save SO MUCH MONEY. We got ours from Garden Ridge six years ago after Christmas. It was a $400 tree, we got for $75 and it's still working great. Last year we got a smaller 4ft tree that was originally $100 for about $20 from Home Depot, also after Christmas. I'm so excited this year! It's David's first tree and he gets to put it in his room and decorate it how he wants.
So, should we just suck it up this year, buy one from a lot and then find one after Christmas? I like saving money.
This is too complicated. lol
This is what I would do. I'd never NOT have a tree so if getting a real tree is out, I'd buy a fake one. But if you're willing to wait, check out Garden Ridge, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. right after Christmas. One is definitely going to have an awesome tree for cheap.
You can get a cheapish real one at. Lowes. That's what we did before we went fake.
So 8 just checked Sears site, b/c I'm bored and don't have to work tomorrow. :-). They have their trees 25% off plus an extra 10%. From our massive hunt a few years ago they by far had the best trees for best prices. When we were looking right after Thanksgiving the trees in a lot of places were already picked over, I would imagine there would be great deals but really slim choices after Christmas.
Edit too add- our tree still looks good after several years of my two cats abusing it. And one of my girls is a Chunk!
Big Lots. We got a 7' tall pre-lit tree for about 30 bucks on sale. This was three years ago, but it seems like they have pretty good prices overall. I think it was Oct. when we bought it.
Another Costco buyer here. It was several years ago (+5?) but only $200 or so for a 7 footer. Considering real trees around here go for $80-100 for 6', we more than made out like bandits. Also lights were already on it. Not detangling Christmas lights = best thing ever.

Michaels. It's prelit. Don't pay full price there, though, unless maybe you're getting a huge tree. I didn't watch those sales. All the smaller trees (mine is 6 feet, I think) go on sale 40% off.
Sears, it's huge and really easy to put together. Bought online on Black Friday last year. I think it was 60.00, H was very pleased with this purchase.
