It will get better. First trimester sucks big time. Try to keep small amounts of food in your stomach to help with the nausea. Have you hit the "super smell" part of this? That's actually how I figured I should pee on a stick. Things started smelling very strongly.

You still have a little time with the suckage, but second trimester eases up considerably. For now, sleep as much as you want/can and keep small snacks handy.
The worst part is the mouth taste. It's what sets off the nausea I think. I cannot get rid of it. It's this awful gummy feeling and tastes like what the inside of a dumpster smells like.
I'm really selling this whole pregnancy thing aren't I?
I have the mouth taste thing too! I'm really hoping it goes away soon. It makes all the foods taste disgusting.
Here's the good news that I can report from almost 12 weeks: I've had all the exact same symptoms that you're enjoying at the moment. And almost all of them have gotten much better already. I used to be nauseous every day, and now maybe only a few times a week at the most. The smells thing is still not completely normal, but it's getting better. I can sit near coffee without gagging. I can kiss Mr. Smock even after he's eaten. I'm still fatigued, but I'm no longer napping every afternoon.
Also, with the mouth thing--mouthwash seems to help. Ginger ale also helps.

Ahhhhhh.
Mine never got better. After three months of throwing up 2-3 times every day, I went on anti nausea medication. Which helped with the throwing up, but I was still nauseous 24/7.
It's not a metallic taste. I can't describe it really. It's just foul.
Decaf coffee is one of the things that doesn't turn my stomach. Thank God for small miracles. The only things remotely appetizing are breakfast foods. I had a bagel and hash browns for dinner last night.
I gave up trying to describe the bad mouth taste. It's not metallic, but it's sort of bitter? I've used "grilled dumpster," "rotting organs," and "gutter puss" to capture it, but nothing is quite right.
I know that at ~7 weeks it might not be that comforting to hear, but I do swear that it's getting better for me by ~12 weeks.

Eat whatever makes you not barf. It may not fully go away, but it'll ease a bit. Your body will get used to itself. It just takes a little time. Be patient, young jedi.

bowies and smock, when are you both due? I'm thinking you should coordinate and have your babies on the same day. June 7 would be a good day in honor of me. Also, it is really nicely spaced between Christmas.

I think the 7th is an excellent choice. Except one year it snowed on my Hawaiian luau 6th birthday party. I am still pretty traumatized by the whole thing. It ruined my giant slip and slide.
Yes, bitter. Like you fell asleep with your mouth open and there was a rotting grapefruit covered in yeast in there.
June 7 is going to be way too early for me. I'll likely be induced right on my due date (I'm the freak that asked this at my first prenatal appointment). So, around July 9.

bowies, maybe you could simplify and aim for July 7. It isn't perfect but I could probably still remember the birthday. I don't find one month late too dishonerable.

actually, bowies, you might be induced as soon as you hit term. Which is what happened to me. My OB was concerned about the amount of heparin I was on (you change to heparin from lovenox at 36 weeks) and didn't want me on it too long. PF was induced at 38 weeks 2 days.
It just keeps getting better. I hit positive on the RPR test (lowest possible level) which my OB thinks is due to the clotting disorder - it can produce false positives. I'll be going back to MFM for another round of tests anyways.
I threw up a grand total of once my entire pregnancy - the week before I POAS (other than when I got the flu towards the end). I had a really easy pregnancy, other than getting pre-eclamptic at the end and needing induction. However, almost every one of my friends were miserable for the entire first tri. One was told to take half a Unisom to curb the sickness. If it's really bad, ask your OB about that option.

It gets better, it really does.
I had a relatively easy pregnancy after the first tri. But for those first few weeks, the only thing I could put in my mouth without yakking in the mornings was a 50/50 mixture of sprite and cranberry pomegranate juice. Wierd.
After that, the only thing I could not eat was pasta. I don't know, maybe it was a texture thing, but it really nauseated me. My alfredo loving self thought I was going to die... Once DS was born that went away and I was eating all the pasta again.

It will get better, but you are only 7 weeks, so I won't lie ... it will likely get worse first. I didn't get anything with ds. If it weren't for the missed period, I could have been one of those lying liars who lie and didn't know I was pregnant. However, with this pregnancy, I thought it was bad around week 7 and at week 9 it got horrible. The gagging and dry heaving was awful. I wished I could just throw up because I thought if I actually threw up I might feel better. It finally subsided around week 16. I'm 19 weeks now and the energy is back a bit and the nausea is almost all gone.
Some things that helped: - Mine was made worse by heartburn, and the Tums weren't doing shit, so I had a spoonful of Maalox every night. I was at least able to sleep then. - Vitamin B6 helps a little. I was told to take 25mg 3 times a day. - Not letting myself get over tired. I noticed things got really bad on the day after I'd work a long day at work. Like if I had an evening event and ended up working 9 am - 10 pm, all bets were off. Halloween dragging myself around the neighborhood with ds -- I thought I would die on Nov. 1.
