Maybe this deal has been there for a while, so I apologize if everyone else already knows about it. My hair dryer took a nosedive off the bathroom counter last week and cracked. It still works, but I'm a little nervous about continuing to use something with a heating element after it's been damaged, plus I've had the dryer 5.5 years and paid ~$25 for it.
Anyway, I was at Costco and decided to check their options, not expecting to find anything I wanted. But they had T3 Featherweight dryers (model 73808) for $84! That's a great price for this model, plus since I bought it at Costco I can return it with no hassle if it doesn't work out for some reason.
Ok, someone explain expensive hair dryers to me. I have a hair dryer that I can clearly recall owning in 1998, but could be older than that. It was probably under $20 at the time. What does a $100 hair dryer do for me?
FWIW, I have been an air dry person for most of my life. I recognize that drying my hair makes it look better, but between the time and how I'm convinced its too drying in the long run, I don't. Could a fancy dryer inspire me?

I've also always had a cheap one, and was only considering a "professional" one because my hair is fine/thin and I want to minimize the amount of time I expose it to a dryer. The professional ones do dry hair faster than most cheaper ones. Honestly, though, I was/am still hesitant about this dryer, but figured I could take the risk since it's Costco and I know I can return it if I'm not thrilled. (For the record, I rarely return anything to Costco, and am definitely not one of those people who treats it as a rental store.)

Yes! I have very fine, thin hair. Once you get into heating season (now), it turns into fly away hair. It's not uncommon for me to rub it with dryer sheets to take down the static. I just think that drying it would make it worse.
OTOH, air dried it tends to have no life and get clumpy. There is no winning.

Yep; my hair tends to be softer if I let it air dry, but it doesn't look good. It looks better blow-dried, but can get a bit dry. I am attempting a reboot, and am trying this dryer, have a new flat iron on the way, and am using Alterna Caviar CC cream for hair. We'll see how it goes!

I am lazy which is why I like the professional ones, they dry faster. Now I also spend most of the time air drying, well because I'm lazy, so I might not be the one to ask. I felt ehh about my t3 but really like my erlichman (except for the fact it's louder). Mine was t3 from Marshall's so who knows, it could have been an off batch too.

I have fine hair, so I need something that will add volume to my hair. My fancy dryer (SuperSolano) volumizes in a way that the Conairs I had before it just didn't. Also, it is so powerful that it dries my hair way quicker. And they last a long time.
That said, my sister has a T3 and I've used it and it was TERRIBLE for my hair texture. Made my hair super limp. Ionic is not for my hair type. Also, I like a hair dryer with more heft. But it is totally dependent on what your hair is like.
