I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I would need this reminder over and over: drink plenty of water, and eat plenty of good food. Don't walk around the airport all day.
OK, deep breaths. This will get worked out. You will be running in Florence on Sunday! Just keep repeating this to yourself.
If nothing else try the Ryanair option to Rome. I think the train to Florence is only a couple of hours.
Isn't US Air/Lufthaunsa required under the passenger contract to get you somewhere near your destination on the same day?
USAirways is our main carrier, with Lufthansa as a codeshare partner. All of the USAirways flights are running on time, so they cannot authorize a change just cuz. Lufthansa SHOULD have notified USAirways of the flight cancellation so they could let us know our next options before they filled up, but didn't. So because of that, in Lufthansa's system it looks like we didn't authorize the rebooking so we fucked ourselves out of a next day flight, and USAirways is left holding the bag because they weren't notified like they should have been when that flight was cancelled.
And fucking NO ONE can figure out what that flight's not going to begin with!
Well that's just bullshit. Airlines are stupid.
Just don't give up. Be persistent and loud and you'll get there one way or another.
I just do a shit job of staying hydrated and regular when traveling, and now your normal traveling is extended. I just want you to have the best race possible because I love ya!!!
Ugh, best I'm seeing is a 10hr journey out of Frankfurt at 1135 with Alitalia. Goes via Rome and gets in tomorrow evening, cost is a couple of hundred pounds. Don't think these even enough time for you to make it.

If you're scheduled to get into Frankfurt on Friday morning, and you don't have a flight out pretty soon afterward, I'd seriously consider renting a car and driving on Friday. It would kind of suck, but you'd still have all day Saturday to relax, work out the kinks from sitting in the car for so long, go to the expo, etc.
Ah okay. I'm on the runway right now wanting this plane to park itself so I can get some damn food! I fly out to KY in an hour so I guess I'll miss you anyway.

This. I know it won't be easy, but I would not waste time screwing around with these assholes. So sorry you're dealing with this.
Aw boo. Have a safe flight! And if you're looking for food, the rum bar in D is pretty good
Thanks! I don't have time today but will keep it in mind on my way back through tomorrow. And just to add my 2c, I'd definitely be considering the drive.
Gah....you don't need this right now! Hang in there girl. You'll have lots of options once you're on the ground in Frankfurt. You'll get there. It might age you 10 years and be a planes, trains and automobiles situation in the meantime but you'll get there.

i really do sound like a mom
That's because you're an awesome one
I've had a plan for hydration and eating and stuff through this flight (I know CLT like the back of my hand...actually it does kind of look like a hand, doesn't it?), now it's just going to get multiplied by like 2 at worst, 1.5 at best.
wait - are you flying out of CLT? Or were you?! If so, that's my home airport - if you need anything let me know. We're close!
