AWESOME. I love cross-stitch but I'm so fucking terrible at it. I desperately want someday to have a pillow like this though, which my mom had and which has disappeared over the years:
Lucy Honeychurch, I love that! I don't think it would be hard to do either...

You are so quick! And, they always look so well done! I am a failed cross stitcher. I get bored or something and can never finish anything. I have about 40 random ass half done projects in a tote in storage. lol

Yay I like it! I don't know what got into me, but I decided to cross stitch presents for my two best friends for Christmas. I found a website (pic2pat.com I think) that converts pictures to cross stitch patterns. I am doing pictures of their dogs. I haven't cross stitched since I was about 7, so I don't know why I thought a complicated picture would be the best place to start. It has been fun so far, but I'm not following any of the rules of cross stitch, so who knows how it turns out. I didn't wash my floss before I started, I work on it while I have three cats on my lap, etc. We'll see!
I love modernised crafty stuff. I have a cross stitch that says "you've got to fight fit your right to party" and my friend made me a pillow for O's room that says "welcome tiny overlord."

Jermys, good to know that you don't wash your floss. I read that on some website somewhere, sometime. Do you wash the patterns after you are finished with them? Does the color run?
The picture conversion was FREE!!!!!! Here is the picture
and here is the pattern (it's not in color because I printed it on my black and white printer)
You can choose your count, size, and how many different colors you want to use. The more colors it is the more complicated, but the less colors it is you get less detail. You just upload a picture, choose your options and it gives you a pdf that includes the full pattern, the key (the thing with the symbols), and what colors of floss you will need. It's kind of awesome.
I always wash the projects when I'm done in cold water with Woolite. Or sometimes my foamy hand soap from the bathroom. Whichever comes first. Nothing has ever run!
game blouses, the picture is a pattern...it's just small so you can't see it well. I found it on Pinterest and printed it out, easy peasy!

Awesome! I'd love to try it. I'm in need of a project!
