What are you planning on wearing home from the hospital?
Obviously, I will not be back into my pre pregnancy jeans but I want to be "put together" looking, for the sake of photos. I may not look as good as Kate Middleton, but a girl can try!
Blech, I hated every photo taken of me in the hospital. I was all swollen from being on an IV for over 24 hours, zitty, and I had a broken blood vessel in my eye. DH was kind enough to post one of these flattering shots on facebook. No photos!
And bring more yoga pants than you think you need to the hospital. I only had one pair and we ended up being there for three days.
Yeah, I'm in the comfort crowd. Sweatpants and long sleeve tee it is for me! I have so much on my mind right now I have no room for after outfit planning!
Ok, the crowd has spoken, pictures leaving the hospital are not a top priority. My other reasons for outfit ideas include:
Will my stomach be tender, would the band of my maternity jeans bother me? Even if I don't have a C sections, is this a concern? What about the bulky pads, are yoga pants too revealing?
I have seen mama's leaving in maxi dresses to sweat pants.

Still in the hospital, but learn from my mistakes.
I brought a pair of black maternity pants (Demi-panel) to wear home. I tried them on yesterday, and the band KILLED because of my c-section incision. My MIL went out and got me some drawstring lounge pants in a size up from what I wear. They seem to accommodate the pad, but more importantly, I can wear them without aching. Note: my c-section was unplanned, so I didn't research this enough. My advice is to plan in case of a c-section. Maxi dress could work, but I forgot a razor (another cautionary tale) and destroyed the leggings I had when my water broke. I am not sure I could bend down to shave if I wanted to and had supplies, so I would not feel OK in a dress. The extra day in the hospital post c-section is nice, but not for a hairy Semite like me. In other words, I am no princess Kate. I'm counting on the focus being on my gorgeous baby instead.
I'm thinking my long, t-shirt material maternity skirt (featured in today's HBDB photo). The top is pretty loose and comfortable, and you can roll it down. In the event I have a c section, I wouldn't want anything tight across my belly. Plus it will be January so a dress might be chilly (and I don't want to show sausage legs). I'm not sure about the top.
I haven't thought about this, but my gut reaction is yoga pants and a comfy tee or tank. I am absolutely planning on packing my good skincare stuff and makeup bag though. I am A-OK with pics in yoga pants as long as I can put on a little mascara.

I plan on wearing maternity jeans and a long sleeve top, with prob a scarf. I am a total pictures person, so I will want pics of us as a family leaving the hopsital. So I plan to be comfy...but still cute.
I figured I'd wear a pair of yoga pants or leggings, and a maternity top and my Uggs. Since it will be late January, it could be freezing/snowing here in Upstate NY, so I need to keep the weather in mind. I will definitely put on makeup, though.
I wore yoga pants and a comfy nursing tank (summer baby). If AJ had been a winter baby, it'd be the same with some sort of comfy long sleved top or hoodie over.
I wore maternity jeans and a long sleeve v-neck shirt, and a light scarf. I could pull down the neckline to nurse and used the scarf as a cover-up.
you are wonder woman in my eyes. seriously.
Haha, I was a hot mess when my first was born. Having a little experience under my belt, so to speak, I was able to plan something more functional and a slightly more presentable the second time around. Outfits like that are pretty much my uniform these days
Yoga pants and a long-sleeved shirt, which is what I will probably wear the whole time I'm in the hospital. I look and feel like hell after birth, so the thought of looking put together for a picture is not in my head at all. More power to you if you can look cute leaving, though!
So many yoga pants in this thread, are these maternity yoga pants? The sole pair I own are pre-pregnancy and I seriously doubt I fit in them now.
It will be frigid in January when my baby gets here. I would like to wear comfy pants and a warm shirt - I like the hoody idea. With my husband's ugly black coat over everything so I stay warm.
I would love to look like the Princess. I even have a polka dot maternity dress like hers and have been growing out my hair and found a fabulous straight iron to make it look like hers, but it will be absolutely impractical in January. Also, since I had a chance to visit the hospital a few weeks ago for some tests, put me in the "get the f outta here" camp. My doctor's have also started to throw the words "C section" at me so if I end up with one of those, the drawstring pants sound like a really good idea.
This thread reminds me that I need to buy my new camera.

Yes! At least for me. I have a pair from Old Navy and a pair from Target. They're cut lower in the front so they go under the belly. I have never actually worn them for doing yoga...I wear them as PJ pants.
