Not to be all I love aveda....but...our candles also melt down to a lotion or massage oil. Since it just made from soy and essential oils once it burns down you can just dip into it and rub on as lotion or massage oil.
My mom is getting a naked 3, a salad shooter and a shark vaccumm. She asked for all of it. Oh and a pandora bead.
My mil is getting a philosophy set she asked for and then we get my Inlaws a 6 month wine of the moth subscription. They love it. (Then H picks a golf shirt out for fil)
I don't get my Mom anything. She moved to Spain when I was pregnant 5 years ago and I'm still pissed about it.
Every year I get my MIL a $50 Starbucks gift card, she loves it because there's a Starbucks in the lobby of her building, so she gets "free" coffee every day for about 2 months.
Is it lame to get my MIL one of those Diamond candles with the ring in it? I also got her a sweater. We usually do a gift cert to a restaurant they like as well. my mom got a cordless stick vacuum and tbd.
My mom is the least S&B oriented person ever. I am getting her either an Etsy or hobby lobby CG, a print made from our maternity photos, and a quilted case for her Kindle Fire.
MIL I've gotten a pandora bead, and a philosophy hand cream trio. I'll probably also get her a pretty scarf, and a gift card for her Kindle.

I'm sorry. That sucks that she wasn't the mom you thought she would be.
Signed, also disappointed in mom since I had kids.
I got my MIL a polar fleece parka from Lands End. Which IMHO is too nice but I got it for cheap. I wanted to get her a case if Pepsi since she made a big deal about me only having Coke when DH entire family made a surprise visit this summer. She refused to drink anything because the only pop I had was Coke.

Thanks. I'm sorry about your mom too
The good news is that she's moving to DC in a few months. Still a 5 hour flight from Portland, but better than a 13 hour flight, for sure! So I'm hoping that I'll be able to see her more, and that my kids can have a good relationship with her. Hoping...

My mom asked for a hard sided 360 degree carry on luggage so I got that on Black Friday for $29.99 and for my mil I got her a handmade quilt its beautiful.
My mom is really easy she love jewelry any kind really. She also love pedicure gift cards.
I bought my mom the Vera Bradley grand traveler in the same print as her kindle cover (something paisley? Very berry paisley maybe?) and a stuffed door stop made from a picture of my dog, from Fuzzy Nation.
We bought my MIL a large copper bird feeder and a planter + post to affix it to

I don't know that, that's pretty cool. I may do this as part of my gifts!
I got my mom some soap when I went to Napa from the Napa Soap Company. It was figs and Zinfandel and she was obsessed. For Hanukkah I got her 3 more bars and lotion. We don't do big gifts for adults so it was perfect. She loved it!

We got my MIL some Crocs to wear as slippers around the house. She asked for them, so I know she'll like them!
I'm getting my mom a book she wants, a new butter dish (she has been saying how much she needs one) and maybe a big fleece blanket like I have since she's always cold like me.
The best gift we ever gave MIL was one of those personalized Shutterfly calendars (different family members throughout). She is ALL about family so she loved it.
I think that's it. I'll probably put some products into whatever makeup bags I end up giving her.
Then for MIL we're just getting her some sessions with a trainer at her gym. She recently joined the gym and loves going, but she wasn't sure she could afford to keep seeing the trainer, so we'll cover that for awhile.
My mom collects china teacups so I got her one to add to her collection. It is kind of boring because I can't keep track of which patterns she owns already so she has to tell me which one she needs. I should start a list.
I think we will get boyfriend's mom tickets to the ballet. One of us will go with her and one of us will stay home and take care of his dad who can't be left alone to easily. She also requested that we organize all her tupperware which is really funny to me so I'm totally going to do it.
My mom gave me a whole list of things so she'll probably get new blush from MAC, cake pans, a pie carrier and a mirror. Oh and traditional Christmas Eve pjs.
My mother in law is a little harder and my husband is usually no help. She recently started running so I was thinking of some wunder unders but that takes up our whole mom budget so I'll keep looking. (And watching this thread to get ideas.)

I bought my mom a lululemon jacket. She saw my jacket from last year and really loved it & wanted it but it was long gone, so I bought her this year's version.
For my MIL I seriously have no idea! It's so hard to shop for her I feel...

so far i've only gotten my mom an ornament, but she's pretty easy to shop for, i just need to get it done. she loves snowmen so i know i'm getting this wax tart warmer i saw that's a white ceramic snowman. probably some pajamas, maybe some aromatherapy stuff from B&BW, she loves it.
this is the first year we've really done gifts for my ILs (MIL decided she hated me when DH and i started dating and has just recently come around to team hales). i got her a laser-cut 3D wooden snowflake ornament from a craft show a few months ago, and then she and FIL are getting a big cozy throw together.
