Not even a month old yet. Starting them early
There was family-friendly, local 5k that started at 1pm. Since the weather was mild today, I figured we'd all appreciate getting outside for some fresh air. Plus, I was eager to take the double-wide out for it's first spin.
Love it! BTW- are you sure you didn't pull a fast one on us and adopt or have a surrogate or something? You look amazing! Hard to believe you *just* ha your sweet little one!!
You should AW more often! You look amazing, and we need to see his sweet face again, too! DD is looking adorable as always. Glad you guts had a fun day!!
You can run with him already? I heard/read you should wait until they have head control?
I might need to get the bob infant seat connector after all
Yes, definitely get the infant seat attachment! The BOB is the best stroller, don't wait to start using it. Just don't go off-roading on technical trails, and Baby P will be fine.
I used an extra padded headrest and a rolled up blanket around him for added support. He was really secure and snuggly in there. Same technique I used with DD when I started running with her at 8 weeks old. She seems to be ok I believe cinco and other moms have started early as well.
That's awesome - way to go! And agree with pp, you look amaaaaazing!
Stingyshark - I started running with DS using the BOB with infant adapter at 4 weeks. He would fall asleep! I think the 6 months/head control rule is applicable for folks who don't have jogging strollers with the adapter added so the baby can stay in their carrier.
We did our first 5k at 6 weeks - it was awesome. People were like we can't let a baby beat us! (I wasn't fast - it was a fun run)

Thanks ladies! This pregnancy seemed to be a bit kinder to me, although I certainly have some rebuilding to do. DD kept asking why we weren't going faster, lol.
Even if it was a PW time, it was so fun to be out there. I'm *technically* not cleared to start running until 6 weeks post c-section, so it was mostly a walk with some spurts of jogging mixed. Patience, patience.....
This is seriously amazing! So motivating to me. I was going to do a holiday hustle tomorrow, but I saw the results from last year and there were only 5 walkers...the slowest person was 52 minutes (16 min/mile). I'm not sure how long it would take me right now...

lauren170 Someone has to be last in every race. I'm sure it wouldn't be you though. Having to pee every 200m is no fun in 3rd-tri though. Good for you for even thinking about doing a 5k.
seriously, you are amazing. Not only do you look great, but you feel good enough to go for a run with the double stroller not a month after BIRTHING A CHILD?! Consider yourself my new hero.

My mom is here visiting and also did the race. It was her first 5k, and she was so excited. Now that that results wee posted online we see that she was 3rd in her age group! We should have stuck around for the awards.
