F-5.5 mile run ab series and push ups S-rest S-6 miles, hot yoga, push ups and ab series later I survived our gross and hot December. GO AWAY HEAT IT'S DECEMBER!
Fri - rest but I cleaned for 3 hours and did my 30 day challenge: mountain climbers, pushups, and bridges Sat - 5 mile run + burpees, jumping jacks, and high knees Sun - deep tissue massage and rest - I was super tight so therapist told me to rest my legs
Ran my HM this morning in 1:52:something. 10/130 in my AG. Not a PR, but I'm OK with it. I'm thinking of amending my sub-4:00 marathon goal based on my most recent couple of long runs, but I'm not totally sure yet.
Sun: 5miles + strength, was supposed to be 8, but 5 was all I could handle on the dreadmill
This is my longest distance on the treadmill as well, and I only did it once . Lol 18 miles on the road this weekend flew by. 5 miles on the treadmill feels like it will never ever end.
F: Off Sat.: Cyclocross race Sunday: The cross race was very muddy, gross, and rainy. I didn't want to take the chance of falling and hurting my knee, so I sat out. My exercise consisted of walking around for 8 hours taking photos.

I ran 9 once, I'm pretty sure it took me an extra 30 minutes cause I stopped almost every mile to go to the bathroom, get more water, change out the dvd, etc.

Maybe A, B, & C goals? Your PRs indicate that you could go sub4, but the marathon is a long day and lots can happen (not so good and some things super great!). My long runs are often slower than i would like them to be.
I know I just missed 4 so my advice is sort of nonsensical, but I think you should hang on to that goal. And if it doesn't happen this time, you will wear your PR, whatever it is, with pride, because the marathon itself is something special.
F: 5 mile run Sat: 6.4 mile run (i wanted to go longer but was running late, and was in a shitty mood) Sun: spin, two long hours of crappy crappy swimming. Imjust wasnt moving today. I blame my mood.
F: 9 miles + upper body S: 18 miles w/ final 3 @ GMP S: 5 recovery + core
I'm tired.
Omgwhaaaaathefuck.
You are next level, girl.
Clseale, kickin the shit out of marys.
Haha. Fucking Pfitz, man. I made it worse because I had to switch Sat & Sun. I should have had the 5 recovery between the two, but instead I had 9 miles Friday night & then 18 miles bright & early Sat morning. I did 6 Tues & 12 Wed, so it was only 50 total, he just stacked it all at the end of the week.
So far, I think I like it, but ask me Jan 26th if I think it was worth it.

I'm not kidding you. This training plan ::waving arms above head and at my screen:: is one of the reasons I will never run a marathon as fast as you. You are tough as nails! WTF will you do during your boston training plan? Hire wild dogs to chase you? (heart)

This kind of happened to me last weekend. Sat/Sun/Mon I ended up having to do 9 pace/17 long/9 general aerobic and I kind of wanted to die on that last 9. I didn't try to toss in any strength work though! And I'm super impressed at your 9 at night/18 the next morning - I can't schedule runs like that unless the morning one is recovery.

Ummmm, you're training for an IRONMAN! You're too sweet. I whine about how I've been training since June, and then I think about all of the hardcore women on this board, and I laugh at myself. Lots of inspiration!
Not wild dogs , but DH has been sweet enough to keep me company on his bike.
I'd like to get a training cycle in the 60+ range again, but if I BQ , I'll watch cinco tackle his 70mpw plan (are you doing that for Boston Cinco?), and decide if I hate myself enough to try another Pfitz plan. All I can think of right now is waking up Jan 27th & not be marathon training. Lol

I kinda love that we're tackling this at the same time. If I see even half of the gains you are, I will be thrilled!! Nice job!

Girl thanks, but I think you're the inspiration here! It's definitely nice to have someone to relate to though...god knows my real life friends are bored to tears when I start agonizing over my running.
clseale I'm sticking with the 55 plans for now. The 70 plans scare me! When I was running 60-65 miles/week, I just added a short run on Mondays, and then added a mile or two to some of the other runs. It worked well, but I'm not convinced I'll get more out of a short 5 miler on Monday vs. a day of spin class. ------
My only work out was 10.5 miles on Saturday morning. We've had the stomach bug from hell slowly working through the family. Bleh.

That's what I did when I ran 60+ as well. The 70 plan scares me too! lol I also struggle with the benefits of the 5 mile run. I think that is the toughest one for me to do. Mentally I just really struggle with it, because it's long enough to be annoying for tired legs, but short enough that I question it's purpose.
I hope you're all feeling better soon! If it's the same one that hit our house, the worst of it was over in 24 hrs, but we both felt off for 3-4 days. I was puking w/close to 102 fever, and DH had a mild fever, but really bad GI issues. I'm sorry, it's no fun.
