I got the scan on Friday and they just called me to set up an appointment to go over the results.
I'm freaked out.
UPDATE: He said the scan showed it's isolated to those two lymph nodes. It could be anything from an infection to cancer. Doing a needle biopsy on Friday and those results should take a week to get.
Blah. At least I'm not peppered with enlarged lymph nodes.
No. A round of meds perked me up a couple of weeks ago but they didn't shrink (2 right next to each other)I've been off antibiotics for about 5 days and am starting to feel shitty again, so my logical brain is telling me this is an infection.
My non logical brain is flapping its arms and squeaking. Lol

I hope everything is OK and you get good news! I hate that they always make you come in for the results, when it can easily be handled over the phone. It's a waste of time (and copay!)

The waiting is brutal, glad they can get you in tomorrow. They send our results online, so less waiting, but the come in after hours so there is no one to talk to. Hope everything is ok.
According to HIPAA, you have the right to your medical records. If you're going crazy between now and tomorrow (which is understandable!), you can go by the office or the medical records department at the hospital, and they will print the report for you. Of course, that does mean that you don't have the reference of the doctor to interpret it with you, but you would at least be able to see if everything checked out okay.
I don't want to interpret anything wrong and freak out. I have a disk of the scan images but I haven't looked at them bc i don't know what I'm looking at.
Regardless of the cause, you have enlarged nodes. In the VERY likely event it's nothing (ie not cancer), a treatment plan for whatever the non-cancer reason probably needs to be discussed. Or agreeing to do nothing (watch and wait). So a visit seems totally within the realm of expected.
Exactly. EIther way, they need to discuss the next course of action.

this kind of shit makes me crazy! i can only imagine what kind of anxiety you've got over this.
also, if its really stressful on you, can you run over there today to talk to the doctor? i'm not sure of your relationship with the doctor/nurses at the practice, but i've called for results for E in the past because I just couldn't wait.
