I have a dilemma. Our best friends (who we introduced) have been dating for years now. He shared with me that he is planning to propose to her in coming weeks. He had a specific plan and was excited to surprise her. I saw her last night and she totally knows. She saw right through him. I didn't let on I knew anything--I speculated and joked with her and kept the secret obviously. But should I tell him that she knows? Give him a chance to actually surprise her?
Yes tell him
And urge him now to do it in a way that is special but not a big production. Like if he was planning a night out on the town the first time have him do it on a Sunday night when they are in their sweats. Unless she is the type that really likes a big production this will TOTALLY catch her off guard and be so fun for her.
It is COLD here today. Normally H and Jack walk to school, but I dropped them off instead. That was annoying because 4 people were trying to get out the door at 7 am and I was still 15 minutes late. Normally they leave 20 minutes after Leo and I leave. We are going to have to rethink how we do this.

So I don't want to get too involved because I know he wants to "own" this. Particularly since I set them up in the first place, lol. But he was planning to take her up to VT under the ruse of visiting a brewery they like, but is going instead to a town where we all went camping shortly after they met and has a lot of memories for them. Not sure what his plan was for afterwards---he is telling her maybe that they will stay over at his cousins, and she's not enthusiastic about that. Hopefully he was planning on booking a room at the inn she likes up there instead. That would be a surprise to her, even if the proposal isn't.
OK so I texted him that she knows, and if he asks for anything else I'll offer it, but otherwise just let it be.

Well his original plan sounds adorable. Now I am torn lol.
My grandpa is so cheap. (Everyone: How cheap is he?)
He is so cheap that next week L turns 2 on Thursday. I'm taking the day off from work and wanted to do something special with her, so I'm taking her to the children's museum. I invited him to come along. He looked it up online, and suggested we go Wednesday (NOT HER BIRTHDAY) so that we can avoid paying for her since children under 2 are free.
My grandpa would also do this. Except he would not look it up online. He would call them to inquire about prices lol.
Last night I caught the first half of the PBS Frontline episode on Adam Lanza. It was really interesting. Then the second half was about the shooting and I was like newp and shut it off right away. Can't go there.
I am really really really dreading that anniversary.
I've overslept every day this week so far. Thank God today is my Friday, lol.
I think my personal trainer has given up on me after I canceled on her last month. She usually sends me a calendar with her schedule at the beginning of the month and I just realized she didn't do that this time. I don't blame her, I've kind of given up on me, too!
So I wasn't able to cancel my frye melissa button order and got them yesterday. I confirmed the color wasn't what i wanted. And I also confirmed that I am done looking for high boots. The extended calve fit. But the ankles were so loose and bulky and looked terrible. The boots looked like cheap ass boots on me because they didn't fit right. I must have the oddest shaped legs. I am petite, which makes getting extended calve comical to begin with.
So now I am looking for ankle booties lol. the good news is I can find a really nice pair for a lot less money.
DH just told DD that the picture of her framed in our room on the day she was born is @momonfire 's baby. I asked why her told her that and he said, "isn't that him?" I said, "no! Why would I frame a picture of our friend's baby in the hospital and put it on our dresser?" So weird lol.
Today is my second day of my new job. Yesterday was trial by fire for damn sure. Of course the biggest mistake in the agency's history would show up yesterday. It wasn't my fault, but I had to fix it. It can only go up from here!
After driving around for an hour and 45 minutes, I have given up and I am going home. Bah humbug.
That is crazy! Is parking always that hard? Do you still have to poop? I am clenching for you.
I drove home and pooped. It's usually bad on Mondays and Wednesdays because of street cleaning, so I leave an hour early. And still nothing. I told the job I had a migraine. This is the first time I've ever called out there.
It hit me this morning that there are only 2 weeks until Christmas and I still have SO MUCH to do! I don't even know how I'm going to be able to get to it all because I have NO free time lately.

My DH is the president of his police union and has organized a visit from Santa for three officers who are out with injuries and their families. I am in charge of buying gifts for each of the kids, so that's what I'll be doing today Kinda fun and kinda stressful at the same time! I also have a ton of other errands to run that were delayed due to all the snow we got this week. Except I'm still in bed, drinking coffee. Oops

I think we have royally pissed off my MIL with the argument we had at her house a few weeks ago about Christmas. DH brought up Christmas plans without going over them with me first and I got upset, and let them both know it. Well, he told me last night that she's not going to be at our house Christmas morning (WAHOO!!!) and will stop over at some point. He has no idea where she is going, what she is doing, etc. Now I am starting to feel bad slightly b/c this is the first time since we have had dd that she won't be with us in the morning, but damn it is going to be nice.

DS's PPO was denied. ExH called the prosecutor's office and was told that there is no paper trail; meaning the police department did not follow through on our complaint.
One of DS's teachers discussed my son's "violation of the 'bro code'" with an entire class yesterday, and was not aware that my niece was in that class and therefore it was brought to my attention. I was in that principal's office this morning before 8:00 and completely lost my mind on that teacher. She is relishing in this drama and is a complete pot-stirrer and drama whore. I pretty much told her this in detail. The principal also asked the teacher if she had list her mind.
Diesel tore his ACL and needs surgery to repair it ASAP. He is on pain relievers now and is scheduled to see a surgeon tonight. Afterward we have to somehow keep this 145 lb. dog quiet and off his feet as much as possible for 6-8 weeks. Okwhatnow?
I sent a form from the Friend of the Court into school a month and a half ago so that the school could document that DS is still a high school student in order for me to continue receiving child support for him. I did not get child support this month. Why? DS did not turn in the form.

My jaw just hit the floor! I would have wanted to smack that teacher! WTF??
I am so sorry that he, and you are having to deal with this.
((Ruby)) I am so sorry, what a horribly shitty week already.
DS was up again at 4:45 am with his asthma. He calmed down after his treatments and went back to sleep but he still coughed a lot which kept me up. So, I've been up since 4:45 and have to work today. Thankfully DH is home now so I can go back to work. I see lots of coffee in my future.
