I had resigned myself to the fact that this baby wasn't coming anytime soon due to lack of progress. Imagine my surprise when my water broke at 5am this morning, on my due date! At the hospital now, hoping for some progress so the doctor doesn't decide to start me on pitocin. Any positive labor and baby vibes you could send would be appreciated!
Update: Vivienne Elise was born via csection at 12:26am on December 19th! Unfortunately after hours and hour of stalling at 6 cm it became apparent that baby girl was not going to fit through my pelvis and the doctor advised that we deliver via c-section. It was not the delivery experience I'd hoped for, but she is here and safe, so I'll make my peace with it. So far everything is going pretty well, recovery has been easier than expected, and for the most part breastfeeding is going well. Thank you again for all the well wishes . Oh, and if I ever figure out how to post a picture here, I will .

Thanks ladies! On hour 4 of pitocin and still no progress . The doctor thinks she might be too big to fit through my pelvis, so we'll see! Thanks again for the positive thoughts .

Hang in there. M was born 27 hours after my water broke, even with pitocin. He was big, too, 9.5lbs, and my doctor said that it was probably a good thing he took his time. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
Ditto nursecramer...AJ came right around 29 hours after my water broke, also with pitocin, and also a big(ish) baby at 8lb 5oz. Pitocin sucked balls but it was the only thing that kept my labor progressing at anything faster than a total snail pace, to the point that when I got to 9cm and they stopped the pitocin drip so did my contractions Hang in there dukesilver, you've got this!
