....at being pretty? I think it's weird looking. Like, it has wings on the 2nd floor. Do you think there's anything to make it look less weird? My h is really into it bc it has everything we want in a home, but curb appeal isn't big to him.

I really like it! I love the porch, and with a little power washing and landscaping it could be really cute. If the wings aren't structural, you could probably have them removed in the future. I like that it has a little character.

Aw, this was so not what I was expecting you to say . It's a foreclosure in an awesome school district. I keep looking at it and imagining black shutters (?), cottage-y landscaping, hanging baskets if flowers and rocking chairs. Hmmmm.....
I think it looks weird because it looks like it had a front facing gable that was chopped off and replaced with gabled dormers and a mini (and I mean teensy) side gable roof.
Other than that, I think it has great potential. The stone siding is fantastic, the shutters/trim and woodwork on the porch can easily be painted, and it needs some landscaping. It's cute.
I do think the 2nd floor windows look like eyes with eyebrows and the porch as a mouth with skinny teeth (if you squint your eyes) BUT I do think it has a lot of potential. I agree with the others, power washing, painting the shutters and trim and some additional landscaping across the porch and maybe a tree or two in the front yard would help it a lot. I'd love to see the inside!

Thanks everyone! We drove by and waled around and looked in windows and was pleasantly surprised. I did contact our realtor to see if she knows anything. I am assuming that the price is not really what the bank will accept. It's priced pretty low.

Lol...it does look like a cat. I think painting the trim would really help it.
I have been in touch with our agent. The thing is we have a house and weren't planning on moving for another year or so. I'm not sure if its wise to attempt buying this without having sold our current home first. I asked our agent about the sellers market here in our town. I have a feeling this house is going to have a lot of interest bc f the price and school district, so I'm not getting my hopes up.
The one thing I don't like about our area is how many houses have either weird stone siding or stucco. So odd. I'm more of a wood or aluminum siding kind of gal.
That said, I think it's kind of interesting. If the space works for you, do it! At least it's not boring! I think pitched roof lines are charming. I guess my only question is whether or not the second floor has enough space with the dormers vs. a full gable.
I don't know what the good school districts near you are, so I don't know where it could be!

My son said the "triangles" scare him...lol. I like stone, so that is a plus for me . Interesting is a good word to describe it. I am in love with the porch. We'll find out tomorrow what s going on upstairs.
I like it. Love the porch. I actually like the outside, it's kind of funky and I hate cookie cutter things so ... Our house is a brown shoe box on the outside. All carport with no real entry. Inside, it's awesome like living in a giant tree house and I kind of like it too. No curb appeal at all. It's like a Christmas present with boring wrap.
