We're going to Disney in february, and will have 2 or 3 nights there while we're not staying on-property... the night before we check in, and two nights after we check out (but, we still have park tickets for those days) Does anyone have any recs for good, cheap but clean hotels?
rubytue what was that website you were talking about that lists government rates for different areas?
Will you attempt priceline? I usually do that for a cheap hotel. I've gotten the Sheraton Safari and a Fairfield Inn in the Marriot village near Downtown Disney for under $75 a night. I just stick to 2.5 or 3+ stars and start searching a month out. I wouldn't do this at a busy time of year, which it may be depending on February vacation week. I like the hotels off 535 since there are lots of restaurants nearby and still close to Disney.
For per diem rates, just the GSA site. Don't know if you can get leisure rates in Orlando though. Worth a shot though. Just pick your favorite chain and search with the gov box checked.
The best site is getravelop.com, but it's for week long stays ($350/week) and generally not the best places in season.
Edit: fixed a few typos from late night, no-glasses posting.
I stayed at a residence inn by sea worls (not too far from disney) a few months ago for work and the rates and hotel were great
We stayed at the same hotel when we went to Disney last April. It was still in a decent location and the best rate we could find using DH's corporate discount.

Orlando has tons of cheap hotels.
What's your budget? We can usually find a suite for around $100-125/night. (We like to have two separate rooms so the kids can go to sleep and we can stay up watching TV.) We usually stay at Embassy Suites now (there are several -- the one right near Disney is usually a bit more, but the two on International Drive are very close), but we've also stayed at the Buena Vista Suites.
I don't know your budget but I have recently stayed at the Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn on Palm Parkway. Both were nice and there is a smaller zero entry pool in between that is nice. You would not be far from Disney.
I'm looking for something around $100. So, these all look like pretty good options! I'll have to look into the suites mentioned... it would be nice to be able to cook.

We just started booking suites and it is awesome. Not all have a full kitchen, some just a small fridge and microwave. I love having the separate bedroom.
The Hyatt Place near the Orlando Convention Center is centrally located, within walking distance of restaurants/drug stores, all rooms are semi-suites, and start at $105.
I'm a huge fan of lastminutetravel.com for booking Orlando hotels. We've stayed in pretty awesome hotels for around $100 a night: www.lastminutetravel.com/hp1.aspx
Often you can't see the name of the hotel, but you can see the number of stars, the general area, etc.
If you are savvy, you can sometimes figure out which hotel it is based on the pictures. Hilton, for example, is pretty recognizable.
We used villadirect.com and had a 3 bedroom townhome w/ a pool for $114 a night, I am sure you could find a smaller townhome/condo for cheaper - worth a shot.
