I always picture her face after she was hit in the knee, and it sort of summed up why she bothered me. She had a bad cry face that seemed to scream "WHY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?". I AM AN ASSHOLE.

I also remember after her long program skate at Lillehammer, she sat in the kiss and cry, and she kept saying, "it's over" because she thought she had won, even though Oksana had to skate still. Slavs represent!

Is there room on your bus? However I tend to put an emphasis on the WWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

I think she actually was screaming "WHY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!?!"
She bought my sister a pitcher of beer a few years ago. They said she was cool. But I would have been unable to stop the whyyyyyyyyy from playing in my head.
I think I was in 7th grade, because I was in 5th when Yamaguchi won the gold and she was my faaaaaaaaaaaaavorite. I remember not liking Harding, but not really liking Kerrigan either. But only having 2 years between winter olympics really cemented my obsession with women's figure skating, so I felt like I had to root for Kerrigan. I also remember that was the first year the Olympics were ruined for me by the tape delay. I had a sleepover with a bunch of girls at one of my friend's house and as we walked in after cheerleading practice, the news was on and it said Kerrigan won the silver but that wasn't going to be aired until later. LAME.

But Oksana's story won me over. Poor kid.
Yes, I vaguely remember her story and being glad she won even though it meant the USA didn't win. I always liked her.
Didn't she later have some weird car accident? I feel like there were a lot of scandals out of the 1994 crowd.
I also always rooted for Katerina Witt because she always looked so tall compared to the other skaters (and I am tall), but she's like 5'5, lol.

I remember watching Katarina Witt and thinking she was the only figure skater with boobs.
Since it's been 20 years, figure skating needs a new scandal. The pairs event scandal in 2002 isnt enough. I feel like we need ice dancers sabotaging each other or something.
In her quest to paint Harding as a victim, she's way too eager to gloss over Harding's role in the attack, but she makes a really interesting case for the tendency to trump up a good girl vs. a bad girl scenario, no matter how unwarranted or irrelevant.
This should be watched. I love the expression on her face when lands the improvised triple in the end to make up for the one she doubled, and I love how she falls apart when she sees her artistic scores. Such a cute little butterfly. (wilted)

Her bangs are cracking me up! I actually really like her costume, though. She was always fun to watch. I'm torn on being excited for the Olympics this year because of the hot mess I think it already is, but Scarlett seems to be into watching stuff like this so that should help a little bit.
I haven't followed skating much since they changed the scoring from 6.0, it just doesn't make sense to me. But that was the golden era of ladies figure skating drama, concluding with Michelle Kwan's struggle to reach Olympic gold; I still don't like Tara Lipinski for showing up.
I ALWAYS hated Nancy Kerrigan. I always thought she was a stuck-up chipmunk. Hated. Her.
Tonya Harding won my heart when she landed a triple axel in competition. They still don't do that, you know. I will always be sad that she turned out to be true to her white trash roots.
Do y'all remember the shot prior to the Olympic medal ceremony where the camera caught Nancy legit whining about things taking so long? The officials were scrambing to find the Ukrainian national anthem, but Nancy thought the hold up was because Oksana was freshening up.
I hearted Oksana so much. She was beautiful.
Tara Lipinski was so meh and I hate her for taking Michelle's gold away. Michelle = probably the awesomest skater ever. I will never forget the post-competition exhibition where she skated to something like "Going for the Gold", and there were tears streaming down her face.
Speaking of hot messes, do y'all remember Nicole Bobek?
