My son had a (minor) fungal infection on his foot and it took months of treatment to get rid of it - and it flared up a little again recently. If it is fungal, it could take a long time to get it gone. ((hugs and good luck))

Have you checked out the Babycenter board for babies and children with skin problems? Very helpful. Some babies with similar problems have ended up having candida problems.

Hey Token, did you happen to be on the bump May 11 board? Your sn sounds really familiar.
The doc said it doesn't look fungal at all, but we are getting tests for it and are back on an antifungal and it's getting better. I guess that's the best we can do at this point. I'm taking antifungal supplements as well to hopefully help.
huge hugs. I always check this post hoping one day there will be a victorious post with a solution and an awesome dr.
I'm so frustrated you cannot get into see a g.i. even with a referral? or will they not give you one? it just doesn't make sense. the medical community is failing you in such a huge way.
The pediatric GIs have refused to see us with a referral, as they don't think she has enough symptoms.

I was! My DS is a May 11 baby. Glad things are looking better, and how frustrating that no one wants to see you. :S Fungi are tenacious and hard to kill, but if you're headed in the right direction hopefully it will just keep improving.
