Have they thought about inflammatory bowel disease? My kitty has this and I have been lurking and her symptoms sound really similar to what River has had. Lots of gassy pockets and fiid not moving though his system and diarrhea and vomiting. He needed 12 inches of intestine removed because the tissue was dead. Ever since then he's been totally fine.
Hugs to you...hoping this is all over with now...hopefully she is on her way to the emergency overnight hospital .
No. I'm still waiting to hear she's out of surgery. She went in 2 hours ago.

Thank you. I just tried calling but since they are closed it goes to voice mail. I've been pretty calm but I'm starting to choke up now.

ugh. I can't believe they didn't call you or give you a number to call for updates. Do vets have emergency nurse #s?

I'm glad surgery went well and she is doing okay. I work at an emergency vet and the things we surgically remove from animals or make them throw up never ceases to amaze me. I'll keep my fingers crossed for an uneventful recovery.
My childhood dog had this happen after she ate an entire stuffed barney (you know, the purple dinosaur). She was in surgery for a while removing the purple fabric, but recovered quickly and was back to her happy self in a few days.
The barium isn't moving through her system. It's all still in her tummy which is swollen. The doc is going to get her in asap and then I will have to take her to a 24 hour animal hospital because my vet isn't open weekends.
Update: She's out and okay. They found the croches from two pairs of vs panties stuck in her. I'm always trying to keep her out of my laundry and I get posed because every time I go to put on panties I'm finding holes. Apparently her fetish is more of a problem than my ruined undies.
Thank goodness she's doing better! STOP BUYING SLUTTY UNDIES AND YOUR DOG WILL BE OK.
I kid. So glad they were able to find it and help her out.
I'm sorry, but your update made me lol. This coming from someone whose 6 month old kitten swallowed a piece of thread with the sewing needle attached to it. She's still as obnoxious as ever 5 years later.
Anyway, I'm glad they successfully figured out what was wrong and I hope Lula has a quick, easy recovery.
I'm doing get off at the e vet now. I feel so awful for her, the incision is about half her length. If you remember she had a very thin sac around her spleen and when it healed from her last surgery it adhered to her body wall. So it broke again when they had to remove it to get to the rest of her. Her intestines were not in great shape, probably from the distress. The section where the panties were was very "angry" and dark red but the doc opted to leave it going it will heal. Everything else looked okay. She's got about 20 staples which will need to be removed in 12 days. Right now her temp is low so the e vet put her in a warning bed. Augh, she's been through so much for just a little pup. They expect to keep her until at least Sunday so they can monitor her, check her blood etc. I just want to take my baby home and snuggle.

Poor sweet baby!! I'm so glad she will be ok. Sending her quick healing thoughts and wishes.
Fwiw her lingerie obsession is not strange. My big guy still steals my bras the first chance he gets.

Poor pup! Underwear eating is a terrible habit! (2 of mine did it as puppies) I'm glad she came through ok. Sunday will be here before you know it.
At least with a dog her size, the laundry issues should be easy enough to remedy with a taller hamper. Our dog is almost taller than our hamper lol! Dogs really can change your housekeeping habits when you have an eater like Lula.
So glad they found the cause. Hopefully now she can heal up and be back to herself in no time! Try to get some good rest while she is at the e-vet, she is in good hands.
