All my result can back completely normal and low risk. However in the gender portion of my results it says not requested. I'm going to be stabby if someone did not run the gender portion of the test. Maybe the Dr just didn't add it in his report thinking I'll call if I want to know the gender. My fear is if the lab didn't think I wanted the result they did not even process them. Am I being irrational here?
ETA: Ok so the nurse called me back. Apparently somewhere along the line someone did not mark the correct box telling the lab we wanted to know the gender. They still do the test, but the Dr. Office has to request it. So in 24 to 48 I should know the gender. I am relieved that we can still find out, but frustrated that this happened in the first place.
I don't think you're being irrational, I would be SO bummed if I'd been anticipating finding out the sex and then find out they didn't run it because of a paperwork mistake or whatever!
Did your doctor know you wanted to find out? Mine asked me specifically when we discussed having the test done, so maybe they have to mark a box or something requesting it?

Yes they absolutely knew. I think my husband and I mentioned it like 20 times.

Based on your post I am going to give a warning to everyone who is doing this test.
When she took my blood she gave me a paper to fill out that gets sent to the lab. She told me just write my name and ph and give it back to her. Directly under your name and ph # there is fine print that says check here if you want to know the gender. The girl was not really friendly so I didnt ask any questions. I just checked the box figuring it could not hurt. I got my results back 2 days ago and the did have the gender for me.
vigurl I wish they would have let me fill out the paper work. They just took blood and sent me on my way. I'm glad we can share our experiences so hopefully other people avoid things like this happening.

The girl was so rude. I really wanted to ask her if I should check the box. I was afraid that if I checked the box I would be double billed or something (one for the testing of the DNA and one for the gender) LOL
They really didn't explain anything. She too 10 viles of blood from me (I had other tests done too) and then just shoved this folded paper in my face. I would have been PO'ed b/c they only reason I did that test was to find out the gender. I already did quad anyway b/c it was free with insurance.
