You should have started out with the executive membership! If the rules haven't changed in the last 2 years, then they guarantee that you'll make back the difference in the membership costs - if your rebate doesn't cover it, they'll make up the difference.
We live close to 2 of them and have a family of 5, so it's not usually a problem for us. But the reason we usually have a good rebate is because we seem to buy at least one big item a year - a laptop one year and a king mattress the next. There's always something. Right now I'm strongly considering buying a bunk bed there.
Add to you list of items to try: organic strawberry jam. It's awesome. We buy huge bags of craisins there too. They seem to have a coupon for them about every 2-3 months and then it's cheaper than a smaller bag at the grocery store. Their meat quality is awesome too.
I seriously considered this. They are cheap and look great! They had HUGE red velvet cupcakes. My friend has a birthday next week so I may have to buy her a cake there so I can try one. If I buy a cake for our house I'm in big trouble.
Do it do it do it. I love Costco cake.
Also, we bring the grocery ads so we can compare price per lb on meat. It's usually cheaper.
Man, I love Costco. I've always had a membership in some capacity (grew up at the mothership), and I'm sure if I did an inventory, the majority of my household is somehow furnished or supplied from their goods.
My most recent acquisition: 18/10 Stainless Steel Kirkland Signature 13-piece Cookware Set <3
Diceeyes, how are those pans?? We've seriously been eyeing them for a while now. We have a couple of All-Clad pieces, but those CostCo ones just seem so MM!
Make sure they always scan a coupon for you when you are checking out (they always have them there)... Their entire booklet of coupons has the same code on each one- so they only need to scan one, adn it will give the discounts for that month's items in your order.
we have the 2% membership and always get money back - we buy a lot there, and my sister and mom go on my account now and then, too, so that gives us more back
our must have list: -diapers (the kirkland brand is really good) -wipes - i will ONLY use kirkland brand wipes- love them- very strong, good size, and no scent. Best wipes ever! -milk, regular + lactaid milk = so much cheaper there, and tend to last longer re: expiration dates. -strawberries - huge thing of them for cost of small at my grocery store - and they are always very good. -bacon wrapped scallops (frozen) great for parties. -Imodium - kirkland brand - INSANE cheap compared to any other store. -bottled waters -party goods (plates, cups, sodas, juice boxes, etc) -flowers- really nice, great prices -photo processing- great prices, can pick up in an hour or have sent to you (online) -photo christmas cards- amazing price and includes really nice envelopes -mattress- got a nice Sealy twin for my son, great price. -cereal, oatmeal - for the kids. -cheeses, lots of cheese -wholly guacamole -peach mango salsa -Carter's kids clothing at good prices
They do have an AMAZING return policy - i have friends who returned a treadmill after 2 years b/c it stopped working- they take anything back.
I was just lusting over that sectional myself on Friday night when we were there shopping for our party!
Eating lunch/dinner there is UBER cheap - my family of 5 ate dinner and were quite full for $11.61 on Friday night Their pizza and hotdogs are quite good, too (and huge, so my kids often split them).
ours doesn't have alcohol, which makes me sad b/c it would be nice for parties.
Their cakes are awesome for parties - LOVE their sheet cakes.
They are so wonderful! The heat and cook evenly, and so far have been a dream to clean. I own some singular pieces of All-Clad, too, and these easily perform at that level.
The only complaint I have is that the handles are a little too large for my small hands, but that's my issue.
