Moqueca but this time in Vitoria ES Brazil made with Olive oil and NOT the Palm Oil they use in Salvador which had H and I sick for three days on our honeymoon.
My Bahian SO would cry! He used to fly bottles of palm oil to me in Oslo so that I could make proper moqueca!
There is actually a rivalry about this. When in ES I double checked with the waitress that this did NOT have Palm Oil she was horrified I would even think they made it with Palm Oil. Also to be fair they taste exactly the same. I remembered the taste from 10 years ago, and it is oh so yummy.

I'm another one who loves food. I consider myself to be a foodie, but I don't actually take tons of pics of food. I've eaten a lot of interesting things but the photos will just represent some that I have on file.
This is a photo from my Thanksgiving at a historic Virginia colonial inn called Hanover Tavern which is near Richmond, Virginia. I remember that the drink was disappointing aside from its cinnamon sugar rim but the rest of the food was excellent. Attachment Deleted
These were little snacks in the VIP lounge at Universal Studios in LA last year. They were all delicious. I had to take a photo because they were so cute.
Ordering in a waterfront fish restaurant called Kornat in Zadar, Croatia.
I really love food though so these photos are just the tip of the iceberg for me when it comes to traveling and dining. I love to try new things and I love food that tell me something about a culture and a region.
This thread makes me wish I'd taken more cool photos of cool things that I've eaten. I'd add more photos but I have a few that are too big to fit. May try again later.
alleinesein those cashews! I want some of those right now.
The only place that I know of to get them is at the Taj Land's End hotel in Mumbai. We tried to recreate them and while our efforts were yummy they didn't even come close.

India is not high on my bucket list, but these cashews may have bumped it up a spot or two!
Maple cobbler @ Bryant House Restaurant in Weston, VT. Oh. Mah. Gah. The best dessert I've ever eaten. I love, love, love all things maple!
Making sugar cane juice on Marina Beach in Chennai, India.
Baejarins Beztuot hot dog stand in Reykjavik, Iceland. People there love hot dogs & this place was open 24/7. I don't get it, but then again I'm a vegetarian.
Melons coming off the boats on their way to market in Boubon (near Niamey), Niger.
DH enjoying a pint @ Gravity Bar on the top of Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland
Ooh, I've got a bunch of these. I'll try to narrow it down. 1. Chrysanthemum tea--the buds opened up as you drank; 2. Sichuan hot pot; 3. Authentic sweet and sour pork. American style Chinese has nothing on this dish.
