Yes and holy shit I love that bag. If I ever win the lottery and can afford to drop thousands on a bag (at this point, I'm strictly a KS/Coach girl, which is only in the hundreds), Prada is my GO TO.
Ditto. We just booked our vacation for a little over $2k. A week on the beach vs a pretty generic looking grey purse. I pick vacation.
I pick purse that I could use for many, many years over a $2k week at the beach.
But also, you have to recognize that for some people (and I'd hope for most people who are paying $2000 for a purse), it isn't an either/or deal. Some people could afford the purse plus the vacation plus lots of other things. Financial positions vary.
Exactly! And some people pay much more than 2K for a week at the beach. And some people wouldn't pay more than $500. It's all relative.
If I paid $2,000 for a freaking purse I'd use that thing daily for the next 40 years, regardless of whether or not I thought it was appropriate. Or I'd return it and buy two used cars.
How long do you think a $1K used car would last you? I just sold my 14-year-old car for >$3K.
I don't think there's anything wrong with desiring an expensive purse.
I just don't have those desires. And don't really understand those desires. I'm more of a sisu when it comes to purses. Heck, and shoes. Even if I was rich beyond the need to worry about if a purse cost $20 or $2000, I just don't care.
Obviously, I do not work in fashion. OP: May your Prada purse bring you great pleasure for many years.

Also, the OP lives in London. I'm not sure where in London, but it is entirely possible that she has absolutely no need for a car (let alone two cars). I certainly would pick a purse over a car because I have no need or desire for a car.
Yep, we're in Central London (Chelsea/Kensington area) and have no need or desire for a car.
MM will be proud to know that the car I do keep in the US, however, is a 2000 Honda Accord with about 100K miles on it. So there
