Lol! Sorry to bum you out. I hate the term too but it was the only thing I could think of to describe the style. I meant it to be encouraging !!! I think it will look adorable in there.
Anyway I'm impressed - I've only tried to paint furniture a time or two and it was a major PITA and turned out awful.

For walls, at least, a single heavy coat does really well. For unprepared walls - we just removed wallpaper - or going from really dark to light, I do a coat of primer, then one coat of paint.
It looks great! I did the same thing for my DD nursery with my late nana's dresser. It was hard to paint it for sentimental reasons but the end result was awesome. We used similar pulls and colors too.
